So, yesterday I was watching Yes, Dear on Studio 23. It's a sitcom about a young married couple with a year old baby. It was absolutely...NOT FUNNY!!!! Which made me think, what other crappy US shows do you watch? Yes, Dear has got to be my least favorite. But the crazy thing was, I watched the whole 30-minutes of the show! (Just to gloat on how crappy it was.... ::)yeah right! ;D)

;D ;D ;D
Sometimes their topics are very sensitive. Like last week they were at the park where they happen to see a grown child (maybe 3-4 years old) that breast-fed on her mom in public. The characters in the movie had a big discussion about it and the wife was actually having problems stopping the breast feeding thing. The girl reacted "violently" when the husband entered the room without knocking while she was breast feeding. I was shocked with the reaction. I mean, that kind of bonding should be shared with the husband so that he will better understand the process.
Yup this show is not funny but actually shocking!!! ;)

Some of the best work Tom Hanks did.

best comedy that's STILL airing after like 12 years is the SIMPSONS. bar none.

Oh yeah, totally, totally agree.
And BTW, that Hanks thing was called Bosom Buddies. Good show.

So, anybody seen Family Guy yet? Caught a few clips on the show. Drawing looks a lot like Simpsons (same guy ba? Matt Groening - sp?), I found it interesting but my husband says he finds it corny.
Ah, yes Bossom Buddies. I've not seen any episodes but I hear it's very good.

I know! I was thinking napaka-OA naman nung scene na yun. And then after watching 3 episodes more (why don't I just NOT watch the show?), talagang OA sobra. :-X

I'm addicted to Smallville, cheese and all. It's a cross between Dawson's Creek (teenage angst) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (supernatural powers, villains).

We watch it for the gayness and the fact that Lex/Michael Rosenbaum is hot. I just wish they'd stop ripping off Buffy episodes, though. Still, at least they're copying from the best ;D

I still watch this one whenever I get the chance. Maybe someday I'll buy the DVD. ;)

Saw a few episodes of The Family Guy a few years ago. I liked it better than Futurama, but The Simpsons will still remain a classic.
Also saw some King Of The Hill episodes, but not many enough to make a decent impression.

Also, they revived the Superman franchise. Soundtrack is great too. Plus, Kristin Kreuk!

Okay, here's another not so good (yeah, it's bad!) show ---- V.I.P. ::) ::) ::)
And over the holidays on Studio 23, I saw this show with Kirk Cameron as host. I don't know what it was called. It was sort of like Bob Saget's AFV but this one, the videos were sooooooo obviously faked. They had actors on the "home videos". Grrrrr!
And over at StarTV - they have telenovela time too. US telenovelas used to be hot in the 80's. I remember my classmates talking about Santa Barbara constantly, (not a telenovela fan, give me a crappy sitcom anytime! ;D). Now we have imports from Mexico.....but the plots and the characters and the stories seem all the same to me. ::)

I never tire of watching ad nauseam:
Friends
Everybody Loves Raymond
-
I normally hate Yes, Dear, but there was one episode that made me laugh out loud--I think it was when Jerry Van Dyke was lip-synching this old cowboy song in front of the kids, complete with toy horse and whip. ;D

Home Improvement - best wholesome family show
Everybody Loves Raymond - best adult family show
The Wonder Years - Best coming of age (?) show
Seinfeld - For me better than "Friends"
