That is the effect of having Cam Reddish (6'8") and Vando (6'9") back in the lineup. Both have high energy and take pride in stopping the opposing players that they are guarding.
Deadly sa depensa yung lineup nila na LBJ, AR15, Cam, Vando and AD. Smallest player is AR15 at 6'5". The rest are all 6'8" and up. Cam and Vando can keep up with smaller and quick guards. All the while I thought that Christian Wood was the key pickup nila this offseason. Wala talagang depensa yung tao kaya journeyman sya. Cam was the key pickup nila. His minutes on the court each game says a lot in how much they trust the guy, Mahusay din sa depensa si Max Christie. Last game he shadowed Fred Van Vleet for 29 minutes and Van Vleet had difficulty in distributing the ball cleanly. Van Vleet finished with a PER of -22 while Christie was a +19.
They get cooked when D'Lo and AR15 both play at the same time due to their lack of size. D'Lo is only 6'3" and easily gives up when a pick is set to bump him off his man. Good thing that he is compensating his inability to physically fight against screens by his ball hawking. He had 5 steals in the HOU game. AR15 has also shown his willingness once again to take a charge even against bigger players. Last game he took 3 charges if I remember it correctly.
Their defense will be tested this Wednesday when they play PHO who boasts a supremely gifted scorer in the back court (Booker) and frontcourt (KD).
