Topic: Panasonic 50/65V11

I'll be opening an office in Singapore this week along with my Malaysian partners, so a side trip to a local electronics shop will be a part of my personal agenda.

It will give me a chance to observe a "missing link" to round up our Panny 2009 line up, and this of course is the uber high-end V11. Do note: If ever we see this model floating around local shops - It's a grey import! I don't see the V11 in the official Philippine Panasonic list.

Specs are identical to the G11, save for the THX picture setting which I would really like to look at. Other features may just crop up when I do get to look at the unit.

I believe the V series has a better engine and/or panel based on the reviews. Now we'll have a first hand account of that comparison and how much significant the difference is.

The US G10 version has THX picture setting too, aside from VieraCast (networking extras). At first I found the the THX setting a little too green, but after several hundred hours (of break-in and use), the colors have "settled somewhat" and it actually looks good to me and I use it now (with default settings) for watching mkv movies especially with dim lights. Others have tweaked it further but I haven't gone round to calibrating it further.

I just checked my PM box and the need for an impression for this model is surprisingly high! I don't even know if this unit will even see the light of day, even via the grey importers.

Anyway, I'll do one as soon as I'm not that busy anymore.

Real life obligations could be a bum eh?

And so can MMORPG games (Dang! I even sneak out of the bedroom for a quickie before the actual "hit the sack" time!)
