is it safe to wall mount a 47 inch LCD?
« on: Jun 01, 2010 at 10:22 PM »
47 inch lcd is pretty heavy.  now i have a tv rack that also serves my dvd home theather, xbox360. but my room is crowded already and id like my 47inch lcd to be wall mounted and have a smaller cabinet for my dvd HT, xbox360 and future mede8er.

so question is, is it advisable to wall mount a 47 inch lcd? ROSS brand.

op cors, why not? you can even mount a 63 incher with this, as an example

edit: oops, read some bad reviews about mounting holes not aligning for this particular model.

just make sure you mention the tv model you have when purchasing wall mounts.

i wall mounted my 55 inch led samsung tv. If you have limited space, hanging it is advisable.

are we limited to wall mounting on concrete walls or can we hang them on wooden walls as well?

my wooden wall for example is made of a 3/4 inch think plyboard with vertical support every 32 inches.

what i currently have is a 32 incher. upgrading to a bigger screen in the near future is a possibility.

A 47V alone would weigh approximately 35kgs.  Then the wall-mount bracket can weigh 10kgs or more depending on the maker.  If you can fix some kind of support bracket on the vertical supports to hold the wall-mount, it should be safe - or perhaps an additional (decorated) beam at the planned bottom of the mount+HDTV set to carry some of the vertical load (weight).

We have a wall mounted 65" Panasonic plasma on wood with no problems. Vertical brackets was used by the way.

We also have a 50" Panasonic Plasma mounted on wood using the standard rectangular brackets available commercially

that would depend on your wall. mine is a cement wall and used only 8 tux/screws to attach the mount to the wall

it depends on your taste bro, wall mounting TVs saves a lot of space, but for me, mas lumalaki tingnan kapag nakatayo lang sya sa TV rack at eye level... well that's just me ;)
