smart tv...thumbs up ba?
« on: Sep 08, 2013 at 10:21 PM »
Hi smart tv owner... just want to know if smart tv is good...let's say I have 1mbps internet..can I watch you tube videos flawlessly without  too much buffering especially playing hd videos on a 32 or 42" smart tv?I just don't want to spend so much for a feature that I can't use...or should I buy a tv instead na lang?thanks...:-)

malaki po ba price difference?

i have a basic smart tv 2011 model

youtube ko lang siya nagamit(a few times lang since nabili ko)... imho.. i would save the money and just buy an htpc... have a complete computer on my tv..

i have no experience on the latest TVs though na may keyboard na yung remote control...

i have an htpc and dont use smart tv features at all...

htpc if binudget mo very basic.. can fall below 10k..

Practically irrelevant kahit 100mbps ang ISP connection mo...in my personal experience.  Portal is very limited (but I think this depends on the brand)

Don't bother about those smart features.

I don't use the smart features either as they don't seem smart at all.

I do hear that the new hand-gesture enabled tv's are a lot better, but these are just too rich for my blood at the moment.

I would go for a TV with features that will be practical and useful to me. The current line of SMART TV features is just a fad. New technologies will eventually render the new TV generation obsolete and sooner or later, the big manufacturers will introduce better and more intelligent features that will entice customers to buy.

But yung mga pinakamagagandang TV models ang Smart KUNO.  So how can you guys stay away from Smart KUNO if you want better basic TV functions in the first place?

Anyway, just dont take the smartness KUNO too seriously.  It's still pretty dumb  ;D

It's a matter of knowing what features you need, not want. Mahirap kasi if one does not research properly. Some may be blinded into buying on the spot because of cool features, and this is not limited to SMART TVs. In any case, to each his own.  :)

kung meron kang NAS na puno ng media files useful ang smart tv. pwede mag stream directly ng mga videos thru wifi. no need to buy an NMT.

ganda ang smartTV if you have fibr connection at your house, i've got 64e8000 most of the apps that samsung has on that TV is nice like the BBC iplayer and the NatGeo TV app. you'll never run out of tv contents.

If you guys have netflix or hulu then sulit ang Smart TV. (That is if offered ng smart tv yung netflix or hulu).

Note: You can use netflix kahit sa pinas, just google how.

FYI
playmo.tv / hidemynet / hidemyass / unblock-us / hidemyass / etc = $3 to $5/month  (DNS redirect)
netflix = $8/month

My connection is 3Mbps DL but others who are using 1Mbps are doing fine (but PQ is not that good).

A bit OT...

Does anyone know where i can pick up a standard candybar remote control for the samsung F6400?

the one that comes with the unit is the one with the trackpad /touchpad (like a the one in laptops)
it's nice, pero i still prefer a standard candybar remote.

Smart tv; ktc 32L33d
Smart tv function: can play you tube flawlessly, may konting buffering sa simula, my net connection is 1mbps
Internet radio streams smoothly.
Can browse any site..

Picture quality is good.

What I like most is it has an rca audio out that can connect to my amp...

And lastly...its only under 14k..

The question is...will it last a decade:-)

How can I install apps on smart tv..anyone?
Thanks...
