MY ugliest looking BD purchase was DIANA KRALL CONCERT IN RIO. This is a Blu Ray thats plagued all throughout by mosquito noises. The noise is compounded by the darkened setting, and not helped by, presumably, an ageing Panaflex analog camera (not a high-definition 2K-resolution digital cameras) and worsened by neglible mastering. The producer thinks Krall is so madly popular he rushed to come out with a Blu Ray-tweaked Krall, the product though is no worthy collectable. While I had hoped this concert is a BD high-resolution showcase (like Christ Botti Philharmonic, Quicy Jones Montreux), it is not and I lost further more by the fact that Krall is a farce, an overhyped, publicity-machine creation with no original number or jazz piano skills to cement her name. She is parlayed into fame because she's blond, white and has a Playboy centerfold form, or the sensual appeal of a porno starlet. If she has not picked to play some Bacharach numbers, she's been a dumpee amongst so-called smokey female "songbirds" a long time ago. Buy the BD only if its available truly stinking cheap, the Rio Brazil beach scenes are more curioser to dwell than her actual performance.
