Need advice: Samsung c550, c650 or c6900?
« on: Mar 12, 2011 at 10:03 AM »
Hi Gurus,

Hingi lang ako ng advice sa mga naka experience na with these models.

Which of the 3 models would be the best choice regardless of price?

Samsung LCD LA46C550
Samsung LCD LA46C650
Samsung LED UA46C6900

Would appreciate your feedback as to the pros and cons of each model. Used more for cable TV and BD/DVD viewing, less of games. I plan to buy in the next few days.

Maraming salamat.

Thanks aceaceace. Anyway, I took a look at the models again yesterday afternoon, this time at a different appliance store with very bright lights. That's where i realized na reflective pala masyado ang C650 and C6900. Then pag ikot-ikot ko, nakita ko yung LG 47LE5500. Maganda ang PQ, and not reflective compared to LE7500. I didn't consider LG earlier kasi wala akong experience sa brand as far as TV's are concerned (I use 29* Sony CRT's and a Samsung 37" LCD). But now, I'm thinking about getting this, or its 42" brother (difference of about 20k sa price).

Btw, nabasa ko rin yung comparison ni carlo777, and now I'm more inclined to get the LE5500. Whaddayatink?

I would suggest that you also audition the Toshiba line to give you a wider base of selection. The newer models of LG have been plagued with all sort of problems. I have three older models of LG (LH and LU) that have been excellent so far. However, my latest 37LD460 although did not show any backlight bleeding is now having creeping soot issue but not enough to really distract me. ;D

if you'll be using it in a closed dark room, the reflectiveness of the screen wont be a problem. if it's a brightly-lit room, it will definitely be a problem.

plasmas are the best in terms of movie picture quality, but they usually have very reflective screen (some new ones are less reflective)

samsung, sony, lg, toshiba, etc, as long as it's branded, they're a good buy :)

Thanks guys. I just came from SM (Davao) to take a 3rd look at the LG LEDs. Nakita ko rin yung plasma nila (50PK550R) that they are selling bundled with a 22" LCD at PHP 63,000 (versus PHP76,500 for the 47LE5500). Well, now I'm torn between 2 lovers hehehe. Si wifey liked the plasma and I appreciate also its pq. Yun lang, hindi kasing sharp and detailed as the LED (under showroom conditions). However, another consideration is that pagdala ng LED sa bahay, I would still have to downgrade the settings as it would be too bright for the bedroom. Anyway, what i'm thinking about is that baka under bedroom conditions, magiging pareho na rin ang pq ng dalawa.

I also checked out the Toshiba lines, but what they have are on the 42" LCD. Maganda ang pq, but i realized na medyo bitin sa size.

Oh, and another thing. Sabi nung LG guy dun na di na daw kailangan ibreak-in. Yun daw sabi ng boss nya. According to him, the unit they have on display has been running for almost 4 months na sa "vivid" setting. Wala naman burn-in or IR issues daw so far. Wala pa rin daw complaints sa mga naging customers niya. This is surprising considering that he was also the one who was convinving me earlier to get the LE5500.

I still have until wednesday to decide which TV to get. I hope by that time, I can make a wise and informed decision with a lot of help and advice from you guys.
