Topic: Any comments on this speaker setup?

im using Monitor Audio RS series for my LCR but still uses wharfe 9DFS for economical reasons. I have heard several times how nice sounding the RSFX, which is actually the surround speakers that matches my LCR but the exhorbitant cost is preventing me from getting one. When i changed my surround speaker cables, I heard huge improvements, certainly the 9DFS will not be as good as the RSFX but it meets my expectations for now so I am happy.

Bro how much is the RSFX being sold locally? Siguro naman it's much cheaper than an SVS Ultra?

Add ko pala Sir Fisher, my room is also small that my first plan was having bookshelf speakers as fronts. But after many auditions and tests comparing a satellite speaker, bookshelf and a floorstanding speaker, sa satellite speakers pag solo vocal music, the voice doesn't come out well. Parang "ipit" ang voice sa satellite. Sa bookshelf ok naman pag solo vocal but the floorstanding has the deepest rendition of movies and music.

pwede po mag tanong kng ano setup nyo? kasi pg nag tsi300 pa ako sobra na sa budget. tsaka ill be using the speaker 95% for movies. kng mag floorstander pa ako 100% sa wharfedale na ako. hehe

If you want to start without a sub but feel like there's a sub then I strongly suggest -- Aaudio Titus! Kahit ang bookshelf maganda na, mas lalo pa kung FS. Sa size ng room mo, sulit na sulit ang Titus. hth

My old setup was 5.0 set of  Yamaha speakers with no subwoofer. I only had the fronts, center spkr, tapos yung surrounds lang. Ok naman ang sound with movies and music as there is still bass that comes out even without a subw. And feel ko rin yung "bigness" ng surround sound when watching movies sa Yamaha. Tapos nag palit ako ng setup into just 2 fronts na Polk Audio TSi 300 for now. Tsaka ko na lang ako mag save up for the center, surrounds and sub. Try mo audition muna Polk Audio sa front kahit bookshelf tapos Wharfs sa surrounds. I chose floorstanding kasi kung bookshelf pinili ko baka in the long run hahapin ko yung tunog ng isang floorstander. Like as you listen di ka ma-satisfied sa tunog na may hinahanap ka pa. Ang Polk as "forward" ang sound nya while Wharfs are "laid back" ang sound.

If in case you decided to go with TSI300, i suggest that you listen to RTi A3 first. I auditioned both and compared using the speaker switch at sir Marcs shop and for me the A3 is clearly the winner... I'm not saying the TSI300 is bad, it's actually a very very good speakers but for me the A3 is better... but this is me and i'm no expert... My ears and wallet decides..

I auditioned both and compared using the speaker switch at sir Marcs shop and for me the A3 is clearly the winner... I'm not saying the TSI300 is bad, it's actually a very very good speakers but for me the A3 is better... but this is me and i'm no expert... My ears and wallet decides..

i have the same opinion. i like the sound of the a3 better than the tsi300.

Kung may budget lang I would also go for the RTi series. Was also able to test both the TSi and RTi.

Kung budget is the issue.. mas maganda kung mag antay at mag ipon. It's worth the wait for something you really wanted.. Kesa bibilhin mo muna ang isang bagay na kaya mo lang binili eh dahil kulang sa budget then pag may budget ka na you would sell sa sobrang murang halaga then saka mo bibilhin.... Daming nangyari sa akin na ganito.. THats why ngayon i learned my lesson. If i need to wait for 1 2 3 4 months thats fine as long as mabili ko yung napupusuan ko.. he he he
