Topic: Indoor FM/AM Antenna

My friend just got an Onkyo 609 but can't get it to play any AM/FM with the included antenna.

In this regard, what would be the best antenna to give him a clear reception given the following :

a) Budget - P 2,000 (If your suggestion won't fit the budget, kindly still post it here for consideration)
b) Indoors
c) The smaller the better. He wants it to be hidden if possible
d) Clear signal
e) If possible, not powered
f) To be used for AM/FM

Does he need 2x antennas ? 1 for FM 1 for AM? Or is there 1 antenna that can be used for both the AM and FM input?

sure ka wala masagap na am or fm station? saan ba ang location? 

karaniwan may supplied am-loop antenna at masasagap agad dzbb dzmm or dzrh.

sa fm maski paperclip or small strip of wire may masasagap na station malakas ang signal sa area.
try using manual search or use mono function.

sa paranaque area namin ni test sa loob ng bahay sir. May kailangan bang gawin para mapatunog yung FM/AM? Like kelangan bang i auto tune muna or something? (like pag sa TV, kelangan i auto tune muna yung channel bago lumabas)

basta may nakakabit na antenna, makakasagap ng malakas na station sa area niyo. kung walang masagap sa auto tune, try manual tuning.

+1,,,gamit ko rin antenna ng tv for FM, bili ka lang ng splitter.

Experience ko lng with my HK240 pg gnamitan ng splitter laki ng hinihina ng signal(nag-grain ang pix) ng tv, kya I installed separate outdoor antenna instead.
Sa case ko di umubra indoor antenna, ayaw mag Auto Tune at hindi mag-Stereo ang reception.

I think there are just missed settings or any appropriate set-up to do w/ this problem coz mostly those supplied antenna by AVRs usually works. If you really want to get a power antenna get a TERK w/c I think Amazon has  plenty to choose from. Locally True Value sells those GREENTEK brands w/c is also powered & has different models also to choose from w/ prices ranging from P800-P1,500.
But I suggest trouble-shoot first baka mai nalimutan lang pag set

yung AM nya merong loop antenna yan kasam ng unit.....yung FM unbalanced na 75ohm...pwede naman yung rabbit antenna na pang tv....
