Sorta new with this as I just picked up a WDTV this year and mainly pissed that some of my downloaded videos with DTS audio and some other audio format wont play via my LCD TV.

So...my question would be is that what media player can make things easier for me? I don't want to invest on a Home theatre setup as i just want to keep it simple. Recommend na rin what model I should look for that plays all video format...and of course, allows me to play DTS etc audio via TV only.

Thanks.

first, check if there's new FW, update if there is.
next, depending on media player you can output via SPDIF audio (if your TV has a optical in)
or HDMI, set your NMT accordingly.

check your audio output settings, if you are set to raw, play with other options that is NOT raw.

every NMT claims it plays all format, so check out the NMT thread

Both the Mede8er and the PCH-A210 can do that - direct to TV sound via HDMI of a DTS or AC3 soundstream - of course converted to stereo lang kayang palabasin ng TV tsaka medyo mahina especially kung DTS ang source.   Kung TV lang, TV lang ang sound.  Pero kung bukas ang AVR mo, sabay lalabas ang tunog sa TV and the HT but the sound quality is so unmatched kaya parang out of sync ang tunog.

Ayun! That's what I wanted to hear. I can't really put a home theatre in our apartment as I wouldn't be able to maximize it kaya sa TV audio lang ako nagre-rely. Thanks.
