I'm gonna give you guys another reason to buy this disc. Among the special features is a segment on "The Singalong Phenomenon," where people watch the film IN COSTUME and sing along with the movie, much like the midnight screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Here are some of the costumes:

"Warm woolen mitten":

"Brown paper packages tied up with strings":

My personal favorites: "Silver white winters that melt into springs":

and "The Hills Are Alive...":

 ;D

By the way, this was a "Best Costume" contest, and the winner was:

Yes, that's the carburator the nuns stole from the German's car.  ;D ;D ;D

Bili na kayo!

I agree with everyone that this is one of the few local releases that's worth it's full price.  Sana they will release other such DVDs like Mary Poppins (whose 40th anniversary comes earlier, and where an R1 edition exists)...

crazyguy.. the R1 would be a good investment in the future. standardized kasi ang musical releases ng FOX. you may check State Fair and Oklahoma. they look good sitting on your shelves side by side.

At a present price of P350 in most if not all Odyssey and Video City outlets nationwide (wierd but Astro still has it at P900), this is now hands-down the BEST ever R3 local release in terms of value for money.

Rush to your nearest outlet before stocks runs out.

^^It's no longer on "sale"; a friend of mine went to Odyssey and Video City at SM Megamall just last Friday; she said it's now priced at 900, just like Astrovision/Astroplus.  :(

also went there yesterday and they're all priced back to P900.  :(  lord vader, could you be more specific on where you saw it at P350?  maybe it's still on sale there.

As you can see in the separate Viva Sale thread, not all Odyssey or Video City has it on sale... and those that do, have their copies snapped up.  My guess is that getting it at 350 at the moment, is not going to be easy.  I'd been to a dozen video shops looking for (other) bargains, and no store no longer has a copy priced at 350 ( I manage to get the last copy at one of those shop).

But chances are given time, even those Astrovision ciopies will be priced at 350 during mall sales events... but when they do...they should go pretty quickly...

Frankly, this set is worth it's full price.  But who can argue against a sale bargain.

haven't got to browse the different threads lately so i used to think the same chains are priced the same.  FYI went to the powerplant sale last night and the SOM is still at regular price.  there are boxed sets there that are significantly priced down though.

although i have no qualms on buying it at P900, it's more satisfying to buy it at a bargain alright.  legally of course. :)

Loving this pricing trend!  Got this title today at Landmark for only P299.  Couple of weeks ago, scored Tarzan 1 and Bambi 1 (both 2-disc) for only P199 each at Odessey Park Square  ;D

Was able to get this one the other day for P350 sa Viva kiosk sa festival mall.  Swertihan lang.  Last copy on sale.  The next day hindi na nakasale.

Sulit.   ;)

I just bought my own copy, for 299 lang! I saw it in SM Makati ground floor. Warner Bros is having a sale there. lol

I can't believe this DVD came all the way from being 900 to just 299 na lang!  Wala pang isang taon.  It's worth it to wait talaga for bargain prizes lalo na kung napanood mo na ng maraming besses.

Really pays to wait.   ;D  Even new titles get on sale after around 9 months or less.  I think Chicken Little is one of them.   So is Narnia.

True! I remember how excited I was when I first bought this at P900! Now it's P299 na lang! I'll never buy a Fox title near its release date EVER! Well, maybe X3, if it's the R3 2-Disc DTS w/ comic book.

Oo nga, the disc is worth it's full 900 price (which I also ponied out then).  While it nice to see that more people get to enjoy the movie, it makes you wary of purchasing any of their full price release...
