Hi guys. I read in other forums that it is not advisable to use a component or HT system for live (e.g. videoke, PA) applications for a long period of time as the speakers are not designed for this type of application. I've been using my HT for videoke parties kaya natatakot ako baka bumigay na ang mga speakers kaya I'm planning to have a PA system dedicated for videoke, as well as pwede pang gamitin ng mga bata pag may show sa school. My options are as follows:
1) All-in-One system: Available brands are Laney Audiohub, Fender Passport/Venue, Yamaha Stagepas and Peavey Escort/PVi Portable. This is the most convenient and is portable, but it cannot be upgraded. Among them, yung Laney and Peavey ang medyo affordable.
2) Passive speakers + Powered mixer: Marami ring brands available. Yun lang, pag nagdown and powered mixer, hindi na magagamit until it is repaired, or may spare amp/mixer. Medyo mas mahal din pag pinagsama ang costs ng each component.
3) Active speakers: Since I have an analog Phonic mixer, I can just get a pair of active speakers. Advantage is hindi na problema ang pag match ng rating, and if one speaker blows, tuloy pa rin ang ligaya. The downside however is that each speaker has a separate power supply kaya kailangan ng 2 mahabang extension cords kung sa garden or sa hall gagamitin. I took a look at JBL, Laney, Carvin and Alto. Yung QSC and B-52 are out of my budget range.
I hope our experienced members can give me advice as to which option would be the better choice, as well as recommend brands that are good. Thanks in advance.
