Finished ep4..

not as intense as Season 1 & 2 but still good. I did not read anything about the main characters before watching this, and I was surprised too with the ending. can't wait for the next season.

One thing about this series that makes is so successful is that they got the best actors to play the parts.

Ang gagaling nila umarte and they fit their roles like a glove.

"Cardio"  ;D

I would say the acting in Narcos Mexico so far has been superior to previous Narcos seasons.  Not to say that the previous seasons were bad (they were pretty good, actually), it's just that the cast in Narcos Mexico has been absolutely outstanding, from the main protagonists all the way to the henchmen.  The characters have also been a bit more nuanced compared to previous Narcos.

In terms of pure brutality and violence, it would be hard to top Pablo Escobar, but I think El Chapo and later on, Los Zetas (still active and brutal to this day), may eclipse the Medellin Cartel.

Just go to bestgore.com and you'll see real execution videos of Los Zetas and other cartels on their rivals. Very gruesome.

I think mas brutal ung Mexican cartels compara sa mga Columbian cartels combined. Mexican cartels would "display" their kills like its a form of art sa mga bridges, along the highways, on beaches. Mga na-chainsaw na pinugotan ng ulo nakahelera sa kalsada; mga binibitay sa tulay; school bus puno ng estudyante tinira etc..

Just finished this.  Maganda - better than the previous one imo.  Now we know the background of the bloody drug cartel wars of Mexico.

‘Narcos: Mexico’ Renewed For Season 3 By Netflix With New Showrunner; Diego Luna Not Returning

Netflix has ordered a third season of drug-trafficking drama series Narcos: Mexico. When it returns it will be without series lead Diego Luna, who portrayed drug cartel leader Félix Gallardo, and with a new showrunner.

Season 2 ended with Luna’s Gallardo sentenced to prison for his drug trafficking crimes and there had been much speculation he would not return if the series was renewed for a third season. Luna is set to reprise his Cassian Andor character in Disney+’s Star Wars spinoff series Rogue One, which is currently in pre-production.

Series co-creator Carlo Bernard will be taking over day-to-day showrunning duties from Eric Newman who is stepping back after five seasons.

Set in the 90s, when the globalization of the drug business ignites, Season 3 examines the war that breaks out after Felix’s empire splinters. As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty – and every arrest, murder and take-down only pushes real victory further away.

Cast members Scoot McNairy, José Maria Yazpik, Alberto Ammann, Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda and Gorka Lasaosa will all return for the third season.

Agree it's a good one, mostly about the rise and fall of Amado Carillo Fuentes - the Lord of the Skies, famous for dying on a plastic surgeon's operating table in a fatal attempt to change his appearance.  They've set up season 4 nicely for the rise of El Chapo.
