has anyone checked the matrix revisited disc / disc 2 cos mine i think has a glitch.  it doesnt display the menu screen after u choose the english menu options.  the disc is very clean so i really dont know if the one i have is defective or all copys from the source is defective. its really hard to check the box set 1 by 1 cos its a 10 disc set. tnx.

mr. hankey tnx for the reply.  :)

I go to the menu screen after selecting "English", BUT there's a glitch. The menu screen is pixelated and jumpy on my Pioneer. It works fine on my Nextbase and my Sony. Disc One has an identical animated menu, but doesn't display that problem.

This is the second R3 Warner disc I bought that has this weird anomaly - defective menu on my Pioneer player. The first was Scooby-Doo 2.

Weird.

Is there a difference with the quality of movies as compared to the previous individual releases? This new one is supposed to have a "new digital transfer"??! Any reviews?

My concern is that the individual movies are being sold at bargain prices, Matrix at P299, Reloaded at P650, Revolutions at 895. So you can have all 3 movies at P1800+.  (You can even add Animatrix at P299). Are the extra features really worth the additional P1500?

Seems the linked site above offers good reasons for getting the box set.  I only have the first Matrix, so maybe getting the box set is a good idea.  Then again, am in no rush to get them, so maybe I can just wait for a mid-year sale.   ;D  Or even next christmas sale.

I always get  the same quandary. If your only interested in the movies then don't buy it. But, if you are a serious collector or if you are after the new special features, then by all means get it. But me, I'm gonna buy the r1 version instead.

There's a linked review site a few posts above you may want to look into.  The set enhanced the video quality of the first matrix to make it look at par with the recent ones.  Personally, I am in no rush to get one.  Will just wait for it to go on sale.

just wanna share   ;D

Insert the eighth disc of the DVD set called 'The Roots Of The Matrix.' On the Main Menu of that DVD select 'Next Page.' On that screen press the 'right' arrow key on your remote control to highlight the credits box and then press 'Enter' to get to a screen of Matrix Code. Now press the 'Up' arrow key to highlight a set of characters and then press 'Enter' to see a discussion of the path of the hero as identified by Joseph Campbell. Once this clip is done, a second set of characters will be highlighted on the screen. Press 'Enter' to see a clip of the meanings of the names of Trinity, Morpheus and Smith. Once this clip is done, a third set of characters will be highlighted. Press 'Enter' now to see a clip on the Merovingian. Once this clip is done, a fourth set of characters will be highlighted giving you access to a clip of the body (Zion), mind (Matrix), and spirit (machines). Once this clip has completed, a fifth set of characters will appear and you’ll have the chance to see a demonstration of modular robots. Once this clip is done, a sixth set of characters will be highlighted. Press 'Enter' to see a clip on Nano technology and following this clip, a seventh set of characters will let you view footage of a robot waiter

well, hindi pa nakakaabot sa Astro Festi yung new price tag. P4259 parin sa kanila.
I told them bumaba na and the guy was like smiling at me with a "yeah right" smirk on his face.
bwisit!

when i went there just before xmas, i talked to the same guy & gave me the same reaction like you had. i phoned in stro plus from my cellphone & i gave my phone to him to talk to them. after that, he talked to the manager, & the manager called astro plus, then they gave me the price 3.5k

Honestly, if you already own the initial releases of the discs, I'd have to say NO.

The new set is full of what I'd like to call "non-vital special features." It's okay to own if you have maybe about 50 hours of your life to spare watching technical featurettes.

If not, don't upgrade.

Would really like to get this one.  Kaso di na practical kasi I already own the first two movies on DVD.  Will just probably get a copy of the Revolutions and kung magkapera ng malaki, baka bumili din ako nung ultimate.  ;)

i've always eyed this release and even sold my individual DVDs before.  i even held out for a sale and now that i got it for only P2000 (thanks to sir Blitz) ok na rin. i consider this release to be a milestone to my DVD collection.   ;D

then again i also agree with Mr. Hankey that most additional features are non-essentials.  if i had my way, i'd go for a 4-disc 'condensed' release which only include Matrix, Reloaded, Revolutions and Animatrix.  i never really have the time to view these "technical featurettes" anyway, but thats just me.   ;)

napansin daw niya na lagi kong binabanggit tong dvd na to kya (di cguro natiis) binili niya ako. sayang nga lang, kasi dito niya lang sa ASTOVISION ANGELES nabili yung DVD, and it still sells for 3.5K!!! at least di ako ang gumastos.

i really like the bonus discs..

lalo na yung tribute nila for aaliyah... ang lungkot.  :-[

Have you tried O Greenbelt 1? It was the only store that sold the set for P1700 last sale. I haven't been there lately but since Tower Records Glorietta is still selling the said set for P2000, O is probably still selling it for P1700. I'm not sure, but you can give it a try. :)
