« on: May 21, 2006 at 02:22 AM »
Hi. I'm not sure though if there's already a topic posted on how to save DVD movies into HD
using DVD/CD R/W drive?

Finally once the DVD movie files have saved to HD how to write/copy sa  CD? Currently I'm using Nero Burner.
Possible ba? or perhaps any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi,

Yes there is a program to copy your DVDs to your Hardisk.  Download DVD shrink.  Its great, you can even set it to automatically compress a DVD so it can fit into a DVDr for backups in the future.  Also if you have Nero, you can make a backup copy of your DVD to a DVDr. If you have different region DVDs like Region1 you can also use DVD shrink with this, but you will need a program to remove the region lock, download anydvd, or DVDidle.  I think regionkiller works to this is freeware unlike anydvd and dvdidle.

I addition  to Jerix question, how do you include the subtittles during copying the movies from HD to CD R/W drive? Btw is this the sofware "Easy DVD Shrink 3.0.21 publisher by BurnerSoft.com" are you refering to rip the dvd movies? otherwise if not  would appreciate to mention the website address pls.

$40 yata.

And you'll need a decrypter.  Try DVD43 - http://www.dvd43.com/ - freeware, on-the-fly decryption and region killer.

=====================================

There will be no more updates for DVDShrink (the orig program, ha).  The program author now works for Nero, and his program is now called Nero Recode.  Latest version is Nero Recode 2, included in Nero 7.  If you don't have Nero 7, DVDShrink na lang. Konti lang naman daw ang improvements sa Nero Recode.

Hi barrister.  Thanks for the info..I just visited the websites you mentioned below. In fact I have already downloaded the software.  I'm not sure though if I rip my dvd movie, does the subtittle of the movie  would also be included when  I copied from HD to SVCD? Did you try it this software already?
BTW I'm using Nero 6 as my burner...

Yes, I've burned more than 100 titles, but on DVD only.  I've never tried burning on VCD or SVCD formats, although it is possible to do so.  Try this guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2svcd_guide.cfm

I'm not sure though if I rip my dvd movie, does the subtittle of the movie would also be included when I copied from HD to SVCD?

Not automatically, but you can choose to add burned-in subtitles using dvd2svcd.

I recommend that you just burn directly to DVD.  DVD is not only easier to burn, its format is also superior to SVCD.  If you don't have a DVD writer yet, purchasing one will be one of the best investments you'll make.

Iyan ang problem ng Nero you cannot convert file to DVD SVCD with subtitle.  Try nyo nalang ang Convertxtodvd program mabilis ang conversion, believed me,,  " with subtitle".

I use "DVD Decrypter" (download free) for copying my DVDs to a PC.  I do this normally when I have a bad disk, and would rather have the PC play it back via VGA to the TV.

I once had a plan to backup 600 origs to a PC with multiple HDDs...but I
settled on removing the discs from their cases, place them in Peso1.00 sleeves after removing the fungus caused by humidity, then into  Peso88 plastic boxes (fits about 120 discs each), then eventually to my camera's dehumidifier cabinet.  If the DVD rots...oh well...what the heck, it's just a movie I can probably re-buy at Amazon.  Right now, I'd rather get rid of everything I've got anyway...getting tired of this expensive $$ hobby... normally you watch the DVD once or twice...then that's it...   ;D

Not sure why you would want to save a DVD into [650mb] CDs...but if saving from a PC [DVD copy] to a [4.7GB] DVDr disc...Nero is what I would use.
