Please help me decide.

I'm comparing Samsung HT-X20 against the Panasonic PT-150. The reason is I'm planning to buy an LCD TV soon. One package consists of a Samsung 32R81 + HT-X20. The other is a Panasonic 32LX70 + Panasonic PT-150. Both are roughly in the same price range (1k-2k price difference).

Which one would you take? I don't have a budget to set-up a separate audio system so an HTIB would suffice for now (I'm not an audiophile).

you mean to say you're going to decide which panel to get based on the mini HT package it goes with it since you cannot spend for a better HT system?

Think of it this way, pag may pera ka na, ano i-upgrade mo, LCDTV or the HTIB?

Think of it another way, what is the cost of the LCDTV without the HTIB?  would you say that the bulk of your purchase is the LCDTV?

Think of it another way...


Just choose the LCDTV that suits you (this is subjective) and get the throwaway HTIB that comes with it. 


Now if your question is which would be a better buy - Samsung R81 or Panasonic LX70.  That's a valid question but is highly subjective and personal.

Personally, I prefer the Panasonic but ended up buying the Samsung.  Why? I'm in the rental business, the Panasonic does not have PC input (VGA) - Although it can be done with the Pana, I need to satisfy a broader audience  with less hassle to my technical staff.

not for anything, but i don't understand the priority here. it's like you're buying an htb with a free lcd and you couldn't care less if the lcd quality is so, so. well in fact the lcd comprises a huge chunk of the cost. i agree iwth the other members. buy a great lcd without the htb pacakge so you get more freedom to choose the htb that works best for you. there are a lot better htbs out there than the panasonic and samsung like jbl or klipsch.

i bought my the the samsung 32r81 with x20 ht package.  the picture is good the samsung ht in a box also sounded good and loud in enough for my dad's big room coz he dont want a huge speakers and ht (hehehee good for me)  the htib also plays divx, avi for my 2gb flash drives and also view jpeg. the htib is also remote for thew htib and also u cud control the lcd r81.  i must say it a good buy. no regrets , i also audition for the panasonic package. i prefer samsung in term of sound and vision. PLUS better after sales service. imho. thanks
