dont buy the discrete card.  no bearing, the performance cannot justify the extra cost.  :)
why not get a 780g chipset instead, additional 500 pesos for the motherboard  ;)

Mga kababayan.  Hindi aasenso ang Pilipinas if everytime you estimate the cost of a PC, walang cost ang OS.

Oh libre nga ba ang Linux?   ;D

here's a review of integrated Radeon 3200 vs GeForce 8200.

by the way, bakit preferred ang AMD processor for HTPC setup?

Mga kababayan.  Hindi aasenso ang Pilipinas if everytime you estimate the cost of a PC, walang cost ang OS.

Di rin kasama diyan ang cost ng pag-assemble.  Usually Php500, please make sure to ask for all the manuals, boxes, extra cables, stickers and screws before you leave the shop.

Oh libre nga ba ang Linux?   ;D

Aasenso ang Pilipinas kung linux ang gagamitin.   ;D

Possible choices (htpc distros):

KnoppMyth, MythDora and MythBuntu.

A particular favorite of mine is Linux Mint although (if I had the time) I would rather modify Slackware or VectorLinux to create my own fully personalized build.  :)

@Verbl Kint: actual price na ba ung nasa pricelist/website ng rsun? may naka-indicate na "All Prices are VAT exclusive" sa end portion ng pricelist nila e.  ???

*update* i called rsun shop. pricelist are actual prices if without O.R. (sales invoice only). 12% VAT will be charged if with O.R.

sometimes I encounter mkv with "flac" audio but I dont know exactly what that signifies.  yung meron "lossless" audio are "straight" BD of HD DVD rips.  ts or m2ts format.  you need specific versions of PowerDVD to play these formats through a PC and yeah they are about 25GB and bigger.   Kaya yata ng NMT??? - makasubok ng isa.

Yup matagal na meron. Look for "Remux" in the title.  Remux means they just rip off the video and audio files off BluRay/HDDVD, untouched and without compression, leaving out the special features.  The file container is TS.  The size ranges from 10gb to 40gb+ depending on the size of the original disc.

Sample: http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/4751/hdcscrn.jpg

I never dl them coz they're too big.  For the size, I'll rather dl the full disc to get the special features.  But rips are enough for me.  Besides you need a receiver that can decode the new lossless audio to get the full benefits, which I don't have at the moment. SARS! :P

NMTs don't support multichannel FLAC support at the moment. There's a feature request for this here: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=1848&highlight=multichannel+flac.  Let's hope they'll incorporate this feature in the near future.  :)  Movies with FLAC means the encoders transcode the lossless audio (DTS-HD, TrueHD) to another lossless format FLAC so there's no loss in audio quality.  MPC can decode FLAC but not DTS-HD, TrueHD (the last time I know, not so sure now) but PowerDVD Ultra version can so it's the player of choice for playing Bluray disc in PC.  http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd/compare-retail_en_US.html

malaki diff?  well, napaka-subjective ng audio e.  depende sa tenga ng nakikinig. there was a shootout before among PDVD members and based on the results most of them have difficulty distinguishing the difference between lossless vs. lossy audio in certain tracks. mas naririnig yng diff sa concert bluray.  http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php?topic=81472.90

btw, to those interested, hdchina.org is open for sign ups.  they have some remux.
