Sir Sandawa,

Don't worry, it's my fault.... me itch kasi ako sa analog,...nasa roadmap ko din nga na bumili pa ng separate speaker, tube amp para lang mahiwalay ko ung HT sa pure audio setup...dami ko na rin actually LP's.

Siguro dissapointed lang ako talaga,..as u can see madaling araw ako nag post....medyo napuyat..he he..cguro dahil sa pagod sa trabaho sa opisina,..medyo gigil na ko na plabasin ung cart.

Actually, i will go back to digital for now....BUT FOR SURE!!

I will be passing by Manila first week of Sept for an overseas trip but my schedule is too tight. Maybe mid December, when my family stays in Manila for at least two weeks. My wife has a house in Las Pinas, but we also stay during weekends in Diliman where my two brothers' houses are located.

i remembered this thread when i helped a friend setup his DUAL ULM last weekend.

here are some of my observations FYI

the stylus is an ortofon but is neither a 1/2 standard mount or a P mount. It has a proprietary mount that you attached to the headshell as described by sandawa.  the best option if the cartridges still has continuity is to resolder the loosen wire to the plate and to find a replacement stylus should you need one for it which i think common ortofon om will fit.  else,  you'll have to DIY standard cart to fit in the mounting plate.  also, there are no more screws to attach a p-mount/standard cart on it because the plastic mounting is molded into the cartridge.

the ULM is a novel arm as compatibility of arm-to-cart compliance is adjusted at the back of the arm in the position where the counterweight should be.  there is also a different way of zero-balancing the arm.  VTF is dynamic design where you load it by a knob on the side of the pivot.  It has two different antiskate setting - one for conical stylus and one for elliptical - im still think the theory behind.  there is also no adjustment in the headshell to be able to allign the cart according to alignment tools so you are limited with the manufacturer's alignment setting.

currently, nasa pagawaan pa ung Dual ko, wala makuhang ortofon stylus, baka me alam ka na distributor sa Phil, or somebody u know, would appreciate it very much.
