SAMWON avr or independent transformer for US AMP ?
« on: Sep 09, 2010 at 02:33 PM »
If I were to use lets say a 200-400 watt amplifier bought from the US which has a rating of 120 (+/- 3%) Volt AC Line, would it be better for me to use the 110v socket of my Samwon AVR or is it better to buy an independent ( step-up or step-down ? ) transformer ?

if so what's a good quality transformer and where can i buy it besides true-value or ace

That's like asking if you should use a regulated AC or not.  A step down transformer is not regulated, your Samwon is. I think it's more pertinent to check if your Samwon AVR has a higher power rating to accommodate the amp you have in mind.
