Its because Samsung has a very high DNR MPEG settings... which reduces noice/grains.

Grains to me are okay as it is really part of the viewing experience because movies are shot on film.  Its the cinematic look. The only movies with no noice are Pixar movies.... ;D

Do Toshiba's really have noisy/grainy pictures?
I tested a Pioneer DV-420K to a Samsung 32B350 and Toshiba 32AV700
Samsung - pale colors but no noise at all
Toshiba - better color but noisy picture
Is it really like this for most toshiba lcd tv's?

Thanks
