This is intriguing. 

The S7A has got the less powerful 8655 chip, yet it is more expensive than the 8643-powered S100.

Hi Clondalkin,

:) my 1st attempt to tabulate the S-Series admittedly  is confusing even for me, so i opted to go back to excel and cut the table and put it as picture below :)

  • S7A has 5.1 analog out SD card/USB in the front bay + internal 3.5" mobile tray.
  • S7A Pro same as S7A but with VFD display in front
  • S100 is external only disk (bare sata or e-SATA + 2 USB), it also has no VFD display(if compared to S7A pro)

S7A has no front panel display
S7A PRo has front panel display
(shown is picture is an S800 with front panel)

Unique to Egreat S7A is its ability to provide 5 channel Audio Analog output  on top of Coaxial and Optical digital output!

AFAIK, its the only one that features this. PM me if you find one that can do it
Subtitle download on the fly!

+ 3.5" internal SATA mobile tray(change disks in 3 seconds, similar to PCH)
+ 1 SATA bare SATA (allows adding a 2nd SATA device --- disk, DVDROM)
+ 1 Front SD and USB port (front)
+ 2 USB ports (rear)
