Is there a store near Makati or Las Pinas that sells mid-end/ high-end speaker drivers (6 1/2 inches)? Dayton, Tangband, Seas, Fostex, Goldwood, Focal, Peerles, Vifa are the type of brands that I'm looking for. I cant go to RAON since I'm still 14. I appreciate constructive criticism.

I'm currently using Crown drivers, they actually sound good, although the ones I'm currently using are a little bit chesty (excessive 125Hz of bass). It has nothing to do with my enclosures nor crossovers, probably it's the speakers themselves that has problems.

I constructed the enclosures with plywood, it was braced in 2 proportional sections and also braced with battens in every corner. Every corner is sealed with wood-glue. There are no air leaks as well. There is only a thin layer of cotton stuffing inside the enclosure.

Specs:
- 2 Way Crossover System 4kHz (2nd Order Butterworth)
- Frequency Response: 28Hz - 25kHz (±3dB, 1ft - Measured by EFT Software)
- Max. Speaker Wattage 150W RMS ( 6 Ohms)
- Front Ported Bass Reflex Enclosure
- Bi amp capable binding post
- Cherry Wood Vinyl Coat
- 1/2" Plywood "Too bad i cant find some MDFs  :'( "

Guys ok na po yung speaker nayos ko na po yung mid bass.

DIY bookshelf naman future Project ko ngayon. Pwede po ba magtanong kung saan nakakabili ng magagandang drivers (ex. Dayton, Tangband, Fostex, Seas, Vifa.....)

As far as I know these drivers are not available here.

If your having problems in the 125 hz area, you can mod the crossover and add a filter centered on that range.

chesty bass is often caused by high box q. did you account for 2 drivers when you simulated the box/drivers?

Both woofer drivers where also calculated together with the enclosure. Maybe I should add more stuffing inside. Perhaps replace the cotton stuffing with polyfil stuffing.

If the box is too big, filling it with more stuffing would probably reduce the enclosure's volume (in^3) thus the reducing the chances of having a chesty speaker.

Thanks!  ;D

To verify the result, measure the frequency response after stuffing/modifying the crossover
(pero tingin ko alam mo na to...)

here's a cheap and easy way

i think you got this wrong. the driver will "sense" a bigger box if you fill it with stuffing. otoh if you overfill it that's when the internal volume will decrease. reducing the internal volume would further raise the q and cause greater midbass hump.

for the record what's the fb & q?

I just remembered that each enclosure has two different woofers. One is in-charge of the 45Hz-900Hz and one for the 100Hz-3.5kHz. I did some experimenting, then realized that the 100Hz-3.5kHz was the one making the chesty voice. Would it better to isolate the 100Hz-3.5kHz speaker (using the bracing panels)?

I cant upgrade the crossovers anymore further because it's very hard to find inductor coils for it.  :-[

Thanks! ;D
