modding dvd player audio dac

is this possible and cost-effective, like switching the dac chip itself or the op-amps? i don't want to change to a dedicated cd player since I watch dvd concerts from time to time, but maybe this would "update" the performance a bit, beats sound a little slower on  my player.

my unit is a dv-355, safe to say  there won't be any warranty issues anymore.

Hi, modding DVD players especially DACs & OP-amp are very difficult since they are SMD packages. Besides, they are not only thing to replaced in order to achieved better sounds. If you are really serious listening to a 2 channel set-up get your own dedicated CD player. Or get higher model DVD players like Denon DVD's capable of playing SACD's . Sorry  but it's the best & easiest way to have a  good player other than getting your own separate DAC.

yeah, finally decided to just separate the two set-ups, I'll stick to stereo listening in the meantime as Im hunting for an CD/SACD player (not universal DVD). I'll just save up (after graduation...mukhang matagal-tagal na hintayan 'to) for a surround receiver with musical characteristics for the long term. :)
