Looks like a good buy.  I have the Samsung 19" 940BW and i'm very happy with its performance in gaming. I got mine for only P10.5K 12 mos. 0% interest.  ;D Bang for the buck!

i currently own this one...for gaming it's terrific! since it has fast response time @ 2ms...astig rin pang-PS3...m using an hdmi to dvi cable and connect the sounds thru AV...oks siya! runs @ 1080p (of course it downscales it)

as for DVD viewing, it's not topnotch...why? it's a TN LCD Panel. It's a Twisted Nematic panel wherein due to the low cost of production, it has a limited viewing angle...basically, in order for you to experience a great movie with all the colors and stuff, you need to be "directly" staring at the monitor...

hope it helps...

here's the version purposely for gaming too and movie watching, that
is if you're not averse to an all-glossy panel  ;): Samsung 2232GW

ako, i like glossy screens. available na rin locally for P17,000.

heard from someone although he's not sure, there's a C-Panel & S-Panel for the 226BW, S-panel (or the other one) being more superior. is there any truth to this? complink personnel doesn't have any idea

actually, there are 4-variants of the 226BW panels that i know of: A-AU Optronics, C-Chimei, S-Samsung, the other one i can't recall. as of now no way of knowing if you're getting one or the other panel. at least with the 2232GW, wala pa. limited lang kasi reviews. hehe.

as to the next question, i think gagana naman yung 9250 mo. what you can do is inspect the driver inf. see if it includes the 1680x1050 resolution. one thing sure though.... even me native support vidcard mo for that resolution, it won't play games at that setting.

What's the max resolution for the games? I'm heavy on the FPS games, Call of Duty, Brothers in Arms, MOH & the also NFS series

for the 9250 (depende pa rin kung anong variant), siguro most that it can do is 1024x768@32-bit. at that resolution, the monitor still has to stretch (not upscale) the input to its native 1680x1050 resolution, not really an ideal scenario.

I think the Samsung 2232GW is still a TN Panel...looking at it's price and response time...
still it has limited viewing angle...this is a gaming LCD indeed but not for DVD viewing...
