Saw this model at SM Appliance at 36T.  It has P-in-P and does 1080p accdg to the salesman.  I was asking for a brochure but it wasn't available.  It's quite huge for a 32" flat panel TV mostly because of the large speakers and the frame.

I tried checking the foreign language sites and as far as I can decipher, it seems its native resolution is only 720p and accepts 1080i input.  The panel is a Samsung OEM.  Same supplier for Bravia.

thanks for the reply av_phile1

i will bring my PC next week sa automatic centre and see what's the maximum resolution my x1950 pro + catalyst can squeeze together my ps3...pumayag naman sila...they are actually using an HD DVD unit when they were testing it and malinaw and maganda siya...they showed me the manual and it says that it has 1080p...i have to check this when I go there...

one more thing: the website doesn't do justice because it's using an HDMI not DVI...m not really sure why the model is the same but different units...

Maybe the model for Asian market can accept 1080p.  But be careful, it's one thing to be able to accept 1080p video input, as not all flat panels can recognize that (only 1080i), it's enirely another to have a native resolution of 1080.  It's possible this model downscales a 1080p input to its 720p native resolution.  I have strong doubt this has a native resolution higher than 720p, mainly because of its price point.  I don't think salesmen can distinguish between input recognition and native resolution.   ;D

And HDMI should be used as this is the de facto terminal standard for high definition.  Check if its version 1.1 or 1.3.  The newer the better.

thanks av_phile1!

how would I know the difference between the input recognition and native resolution? how would i also know if it downscales a 1080p to a 720p? sorry if I have a lot of questions...i will definitely bring my cpu and ps3 this week...by the way, can a regular AV cable of PS3 output 1080i? only HDMI can output 1080p right?

thanks again!

hello po...

im just a newbie here po and just want to share my thoughts about my newly-acquired Hyundai 32" HLT-3220...

it's a hyundai (not that known) pero ok n ok po to! mabilis ang channel switching (mas mabilis pa s sony CRT k dati), may freeze frame, decent speakers, able to handle 1080p signals (that's according to the upper left portion of the screen, whenever I adjust my ps3 to 1080p)--linaw po! when I play nba 2k8 for the ps3, as if nanonood ako ng live na game. i use it also for my pc and ok yun resolution--m currently using the 1280 x 768 thru my ATI x1950pro...

thanks po!!

This is interesting. How's Hyundai's after sales service especially with regards to warranty? Where is Hyundai's service center? Who/Which company is the Philippine distributor of Hyundai electronics?

I haven't had the chance to interact with after sales because so far (barely 1 week), it's working wonderfully, on my ps3 especially :)

Service center is located @ Ilang-ilang, Cubao, QC. However, according to the salesman @ automatic center, if I encounter any problem, i should contact him and they would contact Hyundai for home service.
