Anyone used their Samsung Free Wall Bracket?
« on: Oct 17, 2007 at 03:23 PM »
thinking of mounting my 32" samsung with the free wall bracket. how is it? i just think its going to be too close to the wall and its a screw in type...unlike the ones you just hang.

any feedback? is it hard to unmount the tv? is it too close to the wall for the wiring?

Once you mount in on a wall, you can't "swing" it, or move it to a new location easily.

Therefore, I did not use it.

To use the provided Samsung Wall Mount, you'll have to improvise and place a 3-4inch spacer, so that the HDMI and Antennae cable will fit.

Yes, comparing to the LCD of Philips,Sharp(for me, the best of the lot is the LCD from Sharp, it has an indent and outer cover)and Panasonic, Samsung's back panel is the worst of the lot, since, if you'll utilize the provided bracket, there will be no adequate space for your HDMI and Antennae, Another step to take is to build an aesthetic pseudo panel, much like what they did at the Penshoppe store in Mega Mall.

This will cost around 8-10k depending on your taste, but stilll cheaper and space saving than a Bello.

even if you put in the cables before mounting? just hard to believe that what they gave out wont accomodate at least the cable tv coax...an hdmi...and standard set of component inputs.

The antennae has to be fitted by the provided adaptor since, it's made for PAL broadcast, now with the RCA cables, the solution is to buy the ones with right angles, but this are more costly and can only be purchased in a specialty audio shop.

Check out the bracket, and measure it, even without mounting it,and creating a hole to loop in the cables, will make it impossible for one to manipulate it after it gets mounted, however, with a spacer, problem is easily solved.BTW, the bracket support is good and seemingly sturdy (check put it's size and make, hence the stability), that is if one is willing to add a little more so that no hassle in the future will occur.

The main problem really is the antenane and the HDMI cable.

I'm also having second thoughts in using the wall bracket coz the wires (cable tv, hdmi, etc.) will be forced to bend, leaning hard on the wall.
If only they made the brackets a little thicker, at least about an inch, so that wires can be squeezed in freely.

Yes, I did, but isn't it obvious that there's no picture to send,since it's a total no-no.  ;)

Instead, I got this since last year,Matzer was selling this rack together with the mount ;

Try to contact him, I think he has some more coming.  :)

also got my rack from matzer. :) but since my room is small i couldnt accommodate this model.

BTW, i had my tv mounted by samsung. IT FITS!!! :) its just that i have to take out the tv to access the connections at the back. but i had my hdmi and component cables (xbox) connected before hanging the tv and it fit without bending the cables.

cant seem to upload pictures here at work. ill try to post pix from home later.

hey good topic, just in time kasi balak ko magpawallmount this weekend!

What's another low cost alternative? How about applying a 1-inch thick solid wood (as big as the bracket) between the wall? Adviseable ba yun or will I just end up wrecking my set?

If not, what are the other good wall mounts?

Thanks much!

wallmount was free with my tv. installation was free as well. although i had it installed 3 months after i got the tv.

i just gave samsung a call...the number is in their website...and i scheduled an installation.

NO CHARGE!!!! GREAT SERVICE!!! i just showed my receipt and gave a tip of course :p signed some stuff and then ok na lahat.

but...once installed...you wont have easy access to the back of the tv so make sure you have your connections mapped out...install an extra hdmi cable or what not so you dont need to remove it just to put in extra cables :) just a tip.

xbox component cables are pretty long. so is my hdmi cable as it uses a thick coating of weaved something hahahah. it bends at the end...but after the connector part so no danger of damaging the cables. its just that you wont be able to remove and add additional cables easily. i dont think you can even add without un-hanging the tv first :)

just gave them 100 pesos each...2 samsung guys came. also served them merienda
