interesting... visually, this has very strong resemblance to ike's original voigt. anthony has seen and listened to ike's voigt and knows the dimensions (although the horn design is still ike's secret)...i hope this is not an attempt to copy or clone a somewhat "proprietary" design of ike's without his consent and knowledge...otherwise, let's talk buddy...you are may be treading on sensitive ground.

vintage dog- We only made one of these and it is not for commercial purposes. It is an experiment as what I've stated and we used MDF as compared to Ike's marine plywood as material for the speaker enclosure. We are not marketing this speaker and it is for display purposes only.

If anyone is interested, we can always direct all orders to Ike. We know our limitations.

If I may suggest, you can upload pics at pbase.com and put the prices there too. It can sure save you the trouble plus, we have an online refrence for referals.

Free accounts are only 10mb. But you can always create other accounts and crosslink them with html. Just create dummy emails for succeeding accounts and remember your password.

i think it is very hard to prove if there is an infringement of intellectual rights in case there is a suspicion of cloning. moreso the design of speakers, the parts are not proprietary therefore you could have only pure coincidence in having a same design. come to think of it there are recommended design of the enclosure at fostex website.

any lawyers here to comment???

Have you guys heard of a Copyleft? Its the exact opposite of Copyright. It requires that all modifications or enhancements made to a free design shall also be made free. Thus it is not possible to copyright a copylefted design; it is truly free (the design, not the speaker

Unfortunately, the innovators who have made their designs free to everybody did not think of the property rights issues involved when somebody adds their own designs to the basic design. How much (or how little) modification would make it the original inventor's property or the new inventor's property? The copyleft resolves that issue. As long as you are using the basic copylefted design, it is still free no matter how much modification was made.

As far as I can tell, the Voigt and Nagaoka speaker designs were not copylefted probably because IPR was a non-issue to the designer. But i salute them for sharing their genius with the rest of us.

I agree with theman. you have to apply for a patent with the Intellectual Property Office to get proprietary protection. From the looks of it, there is nothing new with the design that may warrant the issuance of a patent in favor of the inventor of the novelty product. So nirvblakr I think you can propagate your invention and share your blessings to our kind....
