Meron akong voucher pero nawawala. Hanapin ko at kung nakita ko bigay ko nalang sa iyo. Basta pa demo nalang ng setup mo minsan. You can also check my setup when you have time.

Hello guys,

I not sure if this belongs to this thread. But I'll just have to post this so that everybody should be forewarned to what has happened to me. This is about my purchase of my marantz-model sr4300.

I purchased the receiver sr 4300 sometime last April this year. Last September, I experienced a trouble on the display, "error pow5v". I sent it to the store (Circuit City of Cebu) where I bought it and the latter forwarded to the dealer in Manila. That was September 13, 2003.

What is very annoying is that, everytime I did my follow-up since September, the store had been promising me for the nth time that the unit is ready for shipment, but it didn't arrived. Finally, two weeks ago, I was able to contact the dealer in Manila in the person of Mr. Timothy Tan and told me that the unit is ready for pickup by the forwarder. However, until now I haven't received the unit.

Just recently he can't be contacted in his cellphone anymore. My store where I bought my receiver seems to be feed up with lies of Mr. Tan. As of this writing, I don't know if I can recover the unit, because I was just informed by the store that they are planning to replace it with a new one.

Anybody have the same experience like this? Does anyone of you out there in Manila know this guy? For those marantz lovers, beware of buying anything from one of the dealers, MR. TIMOTHY TAN.

i believe the new SR6400, SR7400 was just released last Dec 4 here in the US.

To all those interested in the new line of Marantz AVRs, kindly check this report regarding thenew SR 5400.

Lab tests showed that the 5400 is exceeding its 90 watts/channel rating even with all six channels driven.

finally!! marantz AVR power ratings are now more realistic. i guess eventually they had to fix the problem as this bandwagon practice of overspecifying the specs are biting them back. hope the other mass-market manufacturers will follow suit. bullet, thanks for the link.

I'm one of those happy persons to appreciate the results of the actual power ratings of the 5400 ( although I have not yet heard this AVR driving any speaker). I hope other Marantz models also exhibit the same quality.

I'm was a Marantz fan before...still is... and always will be..... Marantz 5400 driving MS 914 with WS pre-amp... will it be good or it will be good.. ahihi

ras1842, i'm sorry to find out this sad experience of yours. i've been satisfied with my 1 yr old sr4300. so far, no problems naman.

heto nga, may upgrade itch kaagad. any suggestions on higher/newer model marantz receivers? fyi, using the following mission spkrs: m72i as fronts, m7c2 for center, m71 surround and m7c1 surround back. thanks for your inputs in advance!

5400 should do the trick...

if you really are in a budget, 4400 will barely suffice.

just got a new marantz sr6300. bought it here in the philippines for 25K. maganda ung ung rating nya and im very satisfied with the performance. 6.1 so it supports DDex and DTSes. paired it with JBL scs178 speaker system which i bought for 25K also!!!

maganda yung build quality niya, compared to a denon in the price range. all metal chassis design, higher output 100wrms@20-20khz 8ohms, malinis ang tunog even itodo mo at 0db (+10db max niya) very clear on the dialogs the only drawback is mas kaunti ang dsp settings than a yamaha and xover freq for the subs is fixed at 100hz a good buy for 25K

Daemon,

I have an SR 4300 together with a MIssion Set up. (M731,M7C2 & M71i).

The marantz can drive them well since the speakers have high sensitivity. They are already nice sounding out of the box.

You can try other speakers too and find out what type of sound pleases you most.

Better wait for the 5400 to come!!!
