Got the TTT ext version form a friend in the US. Have you noticed that the color is a bit raw in comparison with FOTR extended version? The colors on FOTR are fuller. TTT seems un-enhanced.

that's intentional. Gone are the happy days of the Fellowship. Dark, bleak, and unsure days are ahead of them..

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association presented their 2003 awards Monday night at the St. Regis Hotel in Century City. (These awards were announced January 7.) The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King won two awards: Best Production Design (Grant Major) and Best Director (Peter Jackson). Barrie Osborne accepted the award for Grant Major, who is in New Zealand working on King Kong, reading from an email from Major. At one point Osborne said "and then he thanks me, but I'll skip that," which got him heckled by Peter Jackson.

Peter Jackson accepted his own award. He thanked, among others, Fran Walsh, also in attendance. He explained that he had met Walsh 18 years ago when she was recommended to him as someone who was good with scripts. At the time, Jackson was working on Bad Taste, which had no script, so he asked her to paint part of a set. She was not very good at that, he said, but he discovered she was indeed good with scripts.

In a conversation with Ringer Spy Nerdanel after dinner, Jackson said he had just finished editing the Extended Edition of RotK and that it was 4 hours and 10 minutes 8)

I think that was the unedited rough cut he put together before cutting the theatrical version. He probably was able to make it tighter when he clean-edited the entire thing for this extended DVD, removing extraneous transitions, repetitive dialogue, etc.

Its official!

11 Oscar nominee "Return of the King" will arrive in a Extended cut on DVD this November. Director Peter Jackson has just finished the edit and it will have a total runtime of four hours and ten minutes.

He also revealed in an interview with USA TODAY that the theatrical version will arrive on DVD in May or June. Two months earlier than the first two movies.  ;D

wow! I hope they are priced the same as before :D I don't think they would sacrifice quality and cram it into just one disc :D

Malamang nga Midnight Blue yung next design.  It makes sense because the first was Green, second was Red (brown is actually Dark-Flat Red) and the third should be Blue it would complete the primary colors then.

My second bet is it would be yellowish in shade.  Exciting ito ganda tingnan pag complete na yun tatlong Platinum Extended edition boxes parang 3 volumes ng libro with matching bookends pa.

 ;D

I think it's going to be a dirty yellow, kind of brownish. I seem to remember seeing a picture of it online last year. That shade would suit the set better--all earthy colors diba?

Excited!

arbitrary I agree with you.  I remember seeing nga rin na yellowish yung color niya.  Parang yellow is more suitable, medyo earth tones yung shade dapat pero pwede rin naman blue basta wag matingkad saka dapat flat yung tone ng color.
