mas gusto ko ang manok ni Col. Sanders kasi breaded at mas juicy. Gusto ko rin yung gravy ni Col. Sanders kaysa kay Max. Pero gusto ko rin ang chicken ng Boston Market.

After 2 days of marathon viewing, just finished Season 2 last night....a personal record for me since Bob & 24 season 1 took me a week to finish..which means Season 2 is more exciting than the 1st one. Here are my personal thoughts on Season 2:

The following takes place between 9am & 10 am...

[Major Spoilers]
1. I prefer Kim's involvement in season 1 than 2 since almost all of her escapades/adventures on the 1st one is plot-related from beginning to end.

2. My hats off on the writer for making George Mason a good guy & Mike Novich the bad guy...COOL!!

3. Im just curious on what happened to Lynne Kressge after she was pushed by Ivan(some guy from DoD)

4. For those who watched this on DVD...check out the alternate take on the last episode wherein Max was talking to Mandy(from Season 1?!!) after telling him that she had just finished shaking the Presidents hand...a woman w/a gunshot wound on her left hand held Max's shoulder & eventually they both kissed passionately. It was taken on a rear camera angle but only a fool wouldn't recognize....NINA MYERS!!!! Im not sure why it was cut but my guess is, maybe the directors & writers where thinking of another plot in the middle of the season wherein NINA escaped & hooked up with MAX.

5. The only downside with season 2 is the way the DVD was made. Its not the video nor the audio(5.1!!!) but the way they use images on the episodes menu!! They've been giving away crucial plots of each episode on the images they placed on the menu such as VP Prescott taking oath which kills the element of surprise when a vote of confidence from the cabinet members was conducted on this episode & to think the score was tied 6-6 before the last vote against Palmer. Another example is Jack, Kate & Fayed were being chased by Peter Kingsley's men at the care center after they got a hold of the chip from Wallace on one episode. However, they used an image of Jack being tortured on the menu screen on the next epsiode!!  Actually almost all plots on every episode was a dead give-away because of this blunder.
[/spoiler]
Just my one cent...hehehe!!

Fly, for your point #4, I read somewhere (finding the article in another window.... pero hindi ko mahanap! :-\) that....

They wanted Nina to be part of Season 3 again but since they didn't finalize contracts yet and they weren't sure if the actress playing Nina would sign for another season, they didn't show that part in the show when it aired on TV so people wouldn't expect.  Would've been cool to see her again. ;) Who knows? We'll have to wait for S3 I guess.

They explain why on disc 7, in the commentary track for the deleted scene. They filmed it as an effort to somehow bring that character back, but realized it was pushing it too far and didn't really make sense, logic-wise.

As for dni's long unanswered question:

who was Max talking to at the last episode?

That was Alexander Trepkos. You saw him earlier talking to Peter Kingsley between 3:00AM-4:00AM. He seems to be deeply involved with the cartel that wants the war to start so oil prices will soar, and he probably is some government official. But he did not appear in season one, those are the only two appearances by that character.

Just finished watching season 2 and super bitin ako :(

Is it only me or was the ending of season 1 better kasi at least nagend with the death of _____  ;D Baka the others aren't done with season 1 kaya blank nalang muna yung sino namatay.

One thing is consistent with this series though... you just want to keep on going and going and going. Super nakaka addict siya !!! Can't wait to see season 3

two things pala i did not like about Season 2

1.   why David Palmer did not tell CTU to allot some resources to Jack to prove that the Cyprus recording was fake.  nagkanda hirap pa tuloy si Jack.  i believe he was still in command and he could have just told CTU na "hoy mag-allot kayo dyan kay Jack para malaman natin kung ano ba talaga ang nangyayari"

2.  in the last episode, anyone could have heard the helicopter....  parang impossible na surprise yun for Peter Kingsley...  ang layo pa nun narinig na ni Kingsley...  sana kung sniper lang from afar...  but a sniper from a chopper ???  labo ata...

Has anyone tried the deleted scene function on the Season 2 DVDs? Para siyang Infinifilm or those deleted scenes in the Shaolin Soccer DVD where an icon appears on the corner of the screen and you have to push the Enter button to reveal a deleted scene.

Try it on the very last episode and specially on the last two scenes. The scene with Max on the boat will reveal that someone else we all know is in the same boat with him and the very last scene will reveal just what happens to David Palmer immediately after. diver, if you have the DVD of this, utilize this feature, at siguradongmatatanggal ang pagka-bitin mo kahit konti, the deleted scene will answer the biggest question in your head after that ending.  ;D

AICN ran a Q & A with a studio insider on non-spoiler  details about the third season and it will aparrently involve  a deadly virus called PAP(?) , Almeda and Bauer will be heads of two CTU divisions and work together to stop the virus , Kim Bauer will be working for CTU  (just not sure if Dad or Almeda will be her boss), Bauer will be in the process of moving out of Kate Warner's apartment and Bauer will have a  terrible secret he will apparently reveal to Kim on the last episode. Oh, and the third season starts at 1 PM.

hi X44,

if you watch the 7th disk of Season 2, the making of the last 2 episodes and the commentary of the deleted scenes, they will explain there why they made that alternate ending of David Palmer right after the incident.  It is because they didn't wanna give out the real ending to all those 150 extras that they hired during that press conference of David Palmer.  just in case daw kumalat sa internet yung ending.   ;)  i think they never intended to have that alternate ending.  really just to throw off those extras that they hired.  :)

Ah, OK. Thanks for the info. Haven’t gotten around to the 7th disc but the deleted scene did make feel good tho.  ;D

For anyone who’s still restless about the fate of David Palmer, here’s a  link to that Season 3 aintitcoolnews Q &A which has spoilers galore for anyone who hasn’t finished the second season yet. Click at your own discretion.

According to this Palmer survives but the virus has terribly scarred his hand and could well have ill effects on his health. He’s also running for re-election.

And yet another link to some of the new characters we'll all meet in Season 3. For anyone who's curious.

Oh and the disease is called PNP , which is "pneumatic plague" , which sounds kinda like SARS,eh? :)

Finished viewing the second season yesterday. Anyway, I found this very funny review of the 2nd season box set totally devoted to Kim Bauer's adventures:

What's really of profound importance here are the misadventures endured by TV's most delectable dingbat of perpetual peril (a.k.a. Kim Bauer) on the second longest day of HER dizzy life. To that end, yours truly lends a critical eye toward all two hours, two minutes and fifty-one seconds of Ms. Elisha Cuthbert's salivatory screentime...

Kim related SPOILERS ahead  :)

That's the speculation. Or he could have PNP too.. Everything will be revealed at season's end.

Looks like I'm not the only one who finds Elizha Cuthbert bootylicious but Kim Bauer quite inane. ;D Even the commentary by Joel Surnow seems to acknowledge that fact.

Ayan na...we'll see spin-offs and stuff soon...

Via Video Store Magazine and DavisDVD: Joel Surnow, creator of the compulsively watchable 24, and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment are in early talks of creating a series of direct-to-video projects that will carry the "24" brand name and real-time concept. Speaking at this week's TV-on-DVD conference, Surnow said said he and Fox are cooking up a potential series of feature-length or miniseries-type programs that will follow the drama series' real-time concept and hit DVD without ever airing on broadcast television. "It's still in the very initial stages," Surnow said. "But we are looking at ideas like a two-hour hostage situation or a rescue drama or an emergency-room story." The programs would not necessarily feature the same cast and crew, Surnow added, but will run on their own production schedule at the same time "24" is filming.

Finally !!! The long wait is over. Tonight is the 3rd season premiere of 24.  For a really good article and review .. read USA Today's Life Section.

http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/2003-10-27-24-review_x.htm

Is it just me or FOX is coming up with a lot of good one hour drama series this season ? First, there was The O.C. .. despite the presence of Peter Gallagher, is actually really good. During its summer run, gained a lot of attention and viewers ... mainly because it is well made, nicely acted, and has a nice storyline. Adam Brody is always watchable !

And then, there's the new Jerry Brucheimer produced, complete with the glossy cinematography associated with his movies and other TV shows (e.g. CSI), Skin. It's Romeo and Juliet inspired story line makes it easy to follow. The gal (daughter of the richest porn mogul) fall in love with the guy (son of the District Attorney, running for re-election).  Both are virgins by the way .. well at least until the end of the premiere episode. The DA wants to bring down/use the porn mogul to his advantage for reelection. The twist ? The porn mogul and his wife are better parents and a better family than the DA (cheating on his wife) and his wife/family.  And despite the porn industry set-up, the most skin you'll actually see were from the horny teens ... and even so, they are tamed compared to others.

And now, 24.

This line up is respectable and offers variety compared to NBC's line up of police (four nights of Law and Order franchise .. enough already ! Sam Waterston is getting tired. I still love Chris Meloni though) and the fading E.R. or the CBS' CSI, The Guardian or Without a Trace.  Nakakasawa na !

I also saw this teaser a while ago, but I'm not sure if Channel 2 will actually air 24. This show just doesn't cater to their target audience. Panay tagalog shows lang in-e-air nila. If ever ABS-CBN decides to air 24 over at channel 2 (or 8 for cable subscribers), I think they will have to tagalize it like what they did to Alias. Still, we gotta see if this concept flies. It didn't with Alias.

Otherwise, they could just air it on Studio 23 as is where all the English programs like it are being shown. Still, if they are indeed going to air this series regardless of what channel, I'm pretty sure it'll be the first season. (Wish ko lang na Season 3 agad! Kahit dubbed in Tagalog, papatulan ko! Hehe!). The new viewers have gotta know Jack right when his very first loooong day began!  ;)

Just saw some snippets of 24 in ABS-CBN 2. Looks like they are indeed showing this series over at Channel 2. Mukhang Tagalized siya. At mukha ring dadami ang audience share ng 24 among Pinoys (non-cable viewers) with this move. Maka-JACKpot kaya sa ratings ang dos sa 24? Abangan! ;D

And they'd have Heart Evangelista dub Kim Bauer. Sorry, Heart E fans, she's probably a nice gal in person, but she's just too OA, I lose focus when I see her on TV. Nakakadistract yung pagiging girly-girly niya.....Much like Kim Bauer.  ;D
