Heard the SV83 tubed 6w AMX amp. Napangiti ako. This time around the the amp's graces blossomed with the diy Coral. Even with poor speaker placement the system delivered palpable imaging and depth. Naroon na yung lambing. This will sound great with my Fostex. Small size, small price, you get much more than value for money.

i was there at Phasetron yesterday & mr. sevilla asked me to give the kt-88 amp another listen as he did some tweaks on it.  pucha!  nalaglag panga ko!!!  

ang ganda ng sound!!!  it sounded a lot better than when i first heard it a couple of days ago.  using again the same setup as last time, it was more open & sweeter.  nakakahina ng tuhod ang tunog!  

sir hans adrianne, if you have the time, can you check the amp also?  baka kasi namamalikmata lang ako...  

   

EH will require a lot of time for the grain to smoothen out. at first i despise my EH EL-34 when i had to replace my quad of Svets due to one tube failing. but then i stuck to it, and after three months, it started to smoothen out. before spending additional cash, give it a chance.

how many 12AX7 does your amp need? what is the current 12AX7 brand?

Ano kayang magandang brand ang ipalit sa stock 12AX7 tubes?  stock EL-34 tubes?

1. 6BQ5 amp = PhP 9K
2. KT-88 amp = PhP 12K
3. 300B amp = PhP 30K

sir kimpao,  i suggest you audition the amp using your MAs.  though, sa palagay ko, maganda ang tunog nuong amp sa speakers na medyo mataas ang sensitivity.

actually bosing, am on a look out for higher sensitivity speakers, MA's (b2) are 90 db right? i think i should be needing something higher than this?

change the 12AX7 to sylvania or jan philips (at least NOS mga ito), baka mawala ang nipis ng amp.

i know national electronics that is china, but not germany and i have no experience with those. when i see the tube structure maybe i can relate.

hmmnn dapat gumawa pa sila ng 3 amps with the same design, maguunahan yata sa kt88 sila hehe

The owner/builder can make tube to your preference and he mention that he plans to make a hybrid amp soon..

any more details on this hybrid? how soon?

wag-muna yung 300B, medyo mataas para sa baguhan tulad ko.  still have to learn alot regarding tubes. i feel that the kt-88 will be good for starters like me.

if i were you (unsolicited advise), since 300B is what your heart desires, i'll go for it.  a little waiting/saving would help.
