Similar in tube complements but the amp is self biasing, single ended input and has a switch for either ultralinear mode for 100 watts or class A triode mode for 60 watts. it uses torroidal trannies

nakuha agad yung el84? hmmm... yun ang gamit ng scott ha, gusto ko ang tunog ng scott, sana gumawa ulit si mr. andrew ng el84.

sana kuha ni mr. andrew ang tunog ng scott... base sa cost ng tubes baka mas mura pa ito kaysa 6550 SE.

different Scott amps uses different power tube, El84 is just one of them. My Scott 299D uses 7591

I think 222 and the 299A uses El84

I think that particular amp was about 25K...sa Single Ended pentode with 6550 ka na lang 16K lang

kasi yung 1 pair of El84 per side would maybe give about 15 Watts per channel with the wind in it sails

yep, 222 uses el84/6bq5 and 7189 but the 7189s' use higher plate voltage than the later (correct me if i'm wrong). from what i read, 7189's can be used if the amp orginally takes el84s but if its the other way around, tendency is the tubes will burnout faster since the el84 have lower plate voltages.

25k pala ang pricing nung el84?? i thought kasi since yung pricing ng push-pull kt88 (P3k/ea) w/c also has 4 output tubes is 25k already, and assuming smaller trannies and cheaper el84 (P800/ea) tubes, the el84-based amp would be at least 9k cheaper... di pala
