Negan really knows how to hit it really really deep and get anyone to obey him period. "do what i tell you or else..."

probably the most ruthless character we'll ever see on a TV series. can't wait for the next episodes.

Honestly, this wasn't a good episode. the entire Negan/Rick van ride felt like filler and distracted from the deaths of the core group. It felt like stretching the GOT Red wedding segment to an entire episode.

Also, Negan placing Rick in an impossible situation on top of the deaths felt like overkill and made me somewhat tuneout. Note that I'm still a current reader of the comic book series so i'm not squeamish.

Actually, they already have a new group of enemies and that war is ongoing from issue 157-162. This episode relates to the events in the 100th issue of Walking dead.

To answer Fentom's query re comics:

Rick and team will be able to exact "justice", not "revenge" per se. Rick will suddenly "see the light" and  will usurp Negan with Dwayne and lock-up Negan as he does not believe in killing anymore and begin "settling" as what was suggested above.
