The Realtek 1283DD Custom Chipset
The customized Realtek 1283DD chipset used in the Xtreamer is way more advanced (and
more expensive) than the Realtek 1073 used by some of the competition.  The Xtreamer has
a 200-channel line... it has the capability to pull in 200 internet channels without having to
pass through a personal computer; most of the competition don't have this feature.  This
1283DD chipset, according to Xtreamer, has the power and performance to be used for
internet streaming video and to allow the Xtreamer to be used as a Network Attached Storage
(NAS) unit at the same time.

Xtreamer's DTS, Dolby, Sisvel, DivX, etc. are all fully certified. Many media players do not have
certification.

What else sets Xtreamer apart from the competition?
  • Aggressive release of pre-announced firmware updates
  • Well-supported software development team
  • Large and fast-growing online community
  • Has its own forum with LIVE CHAT at forum.xtreamer.net
  • Active participation of Xtreamer in the forum
  • New products that can interact with Xtreamer's media player, including eTRAYz
Personal Web Storage and Server and IP Cameras.

The Xtreamer is available NOW.  Within a few minutes, you can start enjoying your
high-def videos, music and photos with family and friends!

500gb maximum internal HD? ???

Actually, 1TB max. for the internal HDD.  Western Digital has recently released the "Scorpio Blue" 1TB 2.5" drive. I don't think it's available in the Philippines just yet.

The Xtreamer is about the size of a pocketbook; it's compact and lightweight, easy to take with you on a trip... and since it uses a mobile drive, it can be used in a vehicle enterntainment system (unlike 3.5" HDDs).

Price-wise, a 3.5" HDD is generally cheaper than its 2.5" counterpart.  The same goes for both internal as well as external models.

I would think a 2.5" drive would generate less heat and noise, as well as consume less power than a 3.5" drive.  Comments anybody?

Hi pekspert,

Baka nga ma-delete ng mods kapag nag-post ako ng price dito.  May babala si mod levi na bawal mag-direct selling sa thread na ito.  Humingi ako ng "clarification" sa guideline niya... in the meantime, PM muna kita.

Rgds!

Yes but no relevant difference when taken as a whole.  Ang big difference IMO would be the higher price and sensitivity of 2.5" drives - especially the high capacity ones - thats why new laptops have features that forcibly parks the hard drive when a certain threshold of movement is detected.

I think posting prices should be ok, otherwise the mods would have removed the HDPro and Cinematube threads.  I think Iinas, who's also a mod also joined the group buy for the cinematube.

Anyway, PM me na rin the price.

Thanks.

Hi! I sent you a reply earlier today; somehow, it didn't make it through   ???

As you may have guessed, the Wi-fi Antenna isn't really "free".  The internet selling price allows Xtreamer to give it as a gift for a limited period of time.

Not everybody will want the Wi-fi Antenna.  Some users will not be networking their Xtreamers. Some will be using hard-wired Ethernet cabling for superior data throughput. So to lessen unnecessary expense and to give users a choice, we have opted to lower the price of the Xtreamer and to offer the Wi-fi Antenna as an option.

I'm just about to post the official retail price of the Xtreamer and the Wi-fi Antenna.  In a separate message, I will show what it actually costs to buy an Xtreamer over the internet.

Thanks for your continued interest in the Xtreamer!

If you can't wait for your high-def fix, Xtreamer provides instant gratification!  Stocks are now in our warehouse, delivery is immediate!

Introductory pricing for the pinoyDVD community is highlighted in red below:

Suggested Retail Price
Xtreamer........................P 6,800.00       P6,300.00 + free HDMI cable 1.8m

Wi-fi Antenna..................P 1,100.00

The Xtreamer package includes the ff:
  Xtreamer unit with detachable base
  Universal power adapter
  Remote control
  2 x AAA batteries
  USB slave cable
  Composite (RCA) audio/video cables

You'll be happy to know that the Realtek 1283DD chipset used in the Xtreamer is way more advanced (and more expensive) than the Realtek 1073 used by some of the competition.  We have a 200-channel line... meaning we have "abang" for 200 internet channels without having to resort to 3rd party software for playback; this is something the competition does not have.  This 1283DD chipset, according to Xtreamer, has the power and performance to be used for internet streaming video and to allow the Xtreamer to be used as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) unit.

Our DTS, Dolby, Sisvel, DivX, etc are all fully certified. Many media players do not have certification.

Place you order now while the Xtreamer is in stock!

hmm, quite reasonable price!

1. Warranty?
2. Store location?
3. allotted number of days for replacement of the unit in case of defects?

browsing through their website, i think this is a winner!
