Marami po paraan para malaman natin kung ang LCD TV ay may CCFL backlight or LED backlight (the mentioned procedure here is only generally observed by me based on personal experience lang):
1) Silipin nyo ho ang back cover ng TV at tingnan kung may MARAMING butas ang METAL COVER ng backlight at LCD panel na kitang kita ang puting ilaw (backlight). Sa LED backlight na TV kukunti lang at maliliit ang mga butas o heat vents. Sa ordinary CCFL baclit TVs ay mas marami at kadalasan mas malalaki ang mga butas or heat vents para mas madali ang heat transfer to the environment.
2) Pwede rin i-set ang backlight setting to MAXIMUM. After at least 10 minutes ( mas matagal mas okey), hawakan or touch the screen with your hand at pakiramdaman ang init ng screen. Pag CCFL yan, may init na feeling. Ang sa LED backlight ay halos wala or warm lang.
3) If you have a POWER meter like the OMNI and VOLTCRAFT 3500, set the TV to MAXIMUM BACKLIGHT setting and send ALL WHITE signal to the TV. Measure the power consumption. Then compare the reading with the same size KNOWN LCD TV with CCFL backlight (set also to MAXIMUM BACKLIGHT setting and with ALL WHITE signal). The REAL LED-LCD TV has about 40% lesser power consumption compared to the CCFL backlit TV.
4) Observe the TV's WHITE BALANCE picture quality. The LED-LCD TVs got BLUISH WHITE. A CCFL backlit LCD TV has WARM WHITE.

This is incomplete. the promo is Php 13,998 up-front and Php 626 per month for 12 months for an Samsung 32 LCD TV. If you prefer LED TV, then its Php 19,398 and Php 626 per month for 12 month.

unfortunately, the ad did not mention which specific models are theyre referring to.

buti nalang na clarify mo. then its not as cheap pala. i think its just a good deal. when you add it up parang price of a brand new tv lang din na cash payment. ang maganda dito is magagamit mo muna ang tv kahit na may binabayaran ka pa in 12months time
