10X10 feet ba ang room?

the ideal size (technically) is about 1.5-2x the screen size.

dyan mo iestimate ang screen na bibilhin mo. if the screen is too big and masyado ka malapit, medyo di na rin comfortable manood e.

pero as they say, when in doubt, get the bigger screen.

Boss Vic,

Samsung 32D400 P18800.

Is it an LED or LCD TV? How's the PQ and black levels compared with Toshiba's LCD?

Thanks!

Saw the ad in Sulit while looking for the best deal for my budget. Called them up at +639267509433 for availability and picked-up the unit at their branch in Greenhills. They also have branches in ATC, Eastwood, Greenbelt3. The stocks are fast-moving daw. You have to tell him the branch where you prefer to pickup the TV. Big TV in a big box pero kasya pa sa Altis. Bigger than that, hindi na.

Very satisfied with the PQ. Used mainly for movies [70%] and cable TV watching [30%]. Napa-upgrade tuloy ako sa skycable HD. Hehe.  ;D

its the LA40D550. the LCD not the LED. sorry i didnt specify which one. you might want to think twice if you want to get the UA40D5000. also double check all the LED models for backlight bleeds.

yea nabasa ko nga yung thread na yun and napag-isip din ako. but then naisip ko baka swertehin ako sa model na makuha ko? (talking about backlight bleed) heheh

and i'm not one to turn on the 'soap opera mode' features on a tv set. i prefer my movies with all the blurs as intended by its creators.

still, i strongly considered the plasma versions, but the units i saw on SM Appliance Baguio, all of them had jaggies on the edges of sharp objects in the picture. and i can clearly see the pixels in them when i get close enough. are all plasmas like this or did the store intentionally put out a horrid selection of plasma tvs in order to sell more LED backlit ones?

if you ask me,dont push your luck. 2 new units is what i got and both had the same issue. serial numbers are off by 100 so its not of the same batch i guess. mahirap na.

considered the plasma's too but the power consumption, heat and issues with plasma's of the same model that i read turned me off.

i'd stick with LCD's for now.

Question lang po kasi this is where I often get confused. I always see people saying Plasmas have very high power consumption as compared to LCD's, and they should stay away from it unless you're willing to pay high electricity rates. Pero as i've been searching around, i've noticed na they're almost the same in power consumption (except LED na mababa naman talaga).

Take the Panasonic 42X30 for example, it's only 200w. Pero I saw the LG 42LK450, it's at 205w. Saw a TCL, Sony and a Sanyo, all smaller than the Pana @ 40", all at 180w.

I don't see that much difference... what am I missing?

TIA.

^ But he said, it might be because he's been watching a lot of movies lately because of the better PQ.. which for me is a "good" problem. Plus, the person that said he had a 700 peso difference in his monthly bill is because he used to have a 32" LED and then upgraded to a 50" plasma. For one, and it's very obvious, the increase in screen size. Everyone knows that the bigger the screen size, the higher the power needed. Plus, that's LED and Plasma, I already said LED is way lower than Plasma.. my question was for LCD and Plasma wherein I think there's not much difference in power consumption.

Anyway, OT na to dito... sorry everyone.
