Saw the post in TPC. The person got it from another forum as well.

So many information going around, with one person saying this and another saying that on the differences of the c10 from the x10 that its getting confusing but at 20k, its a price that is hard to ignore especially for first time buyers with a tight budget.

32LH20 sells for 24k in Gadgets in Style Shangrila. Baka lower pa ang cash price, I didn't ask. I just saw it there.

As for the C10, I won't be surprised if the panel is indeed from China. I don't see much problem in that. China and Korea make most of the display panels in the market. Japanese and European brands more often have chinese or korean made panels in them (in-house manufacture or custom sourced ones are usually left to niche and premium models due to cost reasons).

For LCD TVs, I think Sharp is the only major Japanese maker remaining that does the panels in-house.

Cool. Thanks wunder9. That clarifies things.

IPS Alpha Technology is a Japanese company (IPS is a Hitachi tech). Matsush!ta/Panasonic and Toshiba also have stakes in this. They make panels in Malaysia and in Japan (I'm not sure if they have plants elsewhere).

After searching the net, it turns out that IPS Alpha also makes them in the Czech Republic (mostly for Euro market). I'm thinkin the C10X panel may likely be from Malaysia, hence allowing a lower cost.

I'm not sure if this is accurate, but here's info from avsforums. These are LCD panel companies, with the techs they have, and the major brands that they supply.
----------------------
LG Display: TN, IPS, S-IPS, SA-IPS, H-IPS --- Samsung, LGE, Philips, Vizo, Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi, AmTRAN and Skyworth

Sharp Japan: ASV --- Toshiba, Philips, Sony, Pioneer (LCD) and Sharp

Chi Mei Optoelectronics: TN, S-MVA and LCS MVA --- Samsung, Philips, Funai, LGE, Toshiba and Sony

AU Optronics: TN, P-MVA and A-MVA --- Sony, Samsung, Philips, LGE, Toshiba, Proview, Panasonic

Chunghwa Picture Tubes: TN and MVA variant --- Sony, Samsung and Konka

Samsung SDI: TN, PVA and S-PVA -- JVC, Samsung, Sony, Philips, Sanyo and Panasonic

IPS Alpha Technology: IPS Pro --- Hitachi and Panasonic

Hannstar: ?
----------------

@Sir Jojo

I'm also unsure if it's a pro or con... I guess it's not a deciding factor for most. LCD Display techs have their advantages and disadvantages. It's almost like comparing LCD vs. Plasma hehehe. Aside from this, a better implementation of a low tech design can beat a poor implementation of a more elaborate technology. The supporting electronics also differentiate each TV as much as the panel used.

Yes.

When in doubt, trust your eyes. Check it out at the showrooms. If possible, ask the salesperson to hook it up to a bdplayer via hdmi.

I agree. Let your eyes be the judge.

One thing I noticed in most showrooms is that the lighting is too bright (which means the brighter display will often look better). If the showroom allows you to turn off some lights to simulate your home lighting level, then that would be best. :)

About IPS....

The IPS should be a good points especially if you will compare the LE8 (not using IPS, just their ordinary panel) with C10x; the C10X will outperform the LE8 obviously because one (1) of the job of IPS is to have a better viewing angle.

If it happens that Samsung or any other branded LCDs do have better picture quality than the C10x, IT SHOULD be or it is completely understandable since the C10x has lower price. If by chance the C10x produces better image quality (or your eyes said it so), then it is indeed a great buy.

For a 20K LCD it's hard to complain if the colors of the C10 "bleeds", for me I get what I pay for.

By the way, IPS Alpha Technology started making the panels in Malaysia only around February this year.

The Japanese manufacturers are experts in stripping down their products to fit the budget of certain markets.  You really get what you pay for in most cases.

The base tech may be the same but the aces are normally reserved to the premium models and markets.

Dont forget the all important video engine of course.   Technology transfer 101.  It's more like yesterday's technology - today; today's technology - maybe next years;  tomorrow's technology - in your dreams unless you're willing to pay the premium.

20K is indeed an enticing price but just dont expect the model to perform as well as the premium ones.   The limited models of Panasonic LCDs in Tokyo are absolutely, utterly and enormously awesome in terms of IQ - make no mistake about that - but no way near the 20K peso level when converted.

A 20K LCD purchase per se sounds really good. Ang worry ko lang is if your budget extends up to around 40K (especially the nice 42V Panasonic plasmas), you might end up with such unbearable itch to upgrade to that 40K level TV sooooo soon, hence effectively making you spend more for 2 TVs instead 1.

Also, IIRC, they call IPS paneled LCDs "HARD PANEL" and the old LCD tech "SOFT PANEL". This applies when you touch the panel itself, soft panels are well...soft and instantly prone to ripples.

baka bumaba pa nga ito sir before xmas.  kasi i got mine 2 weeks ago at 24.5k tapos ngayon as low as 19.5k na lang pala.  :( 5k is good enough for a branded dvd with hdmi.  anyway, di naman ako nagsisisi dahil ok naman PQ nya sa panlasa ko. :)

The only problem with waiting is that they may run out of stocks.  As it goes cheaper, more people will buy and supply might not be able to meet the demand.  At P19.5k, its indeed cheap considering that a 26" PC monitor is going for around P22,500.

and by the time you will buy, they would have stop production and ready to launch the new series. i think a lot of people try to wait until the last minute to see how low it would get, but eventually the stocks run out. it happened with the pv70, pv8 and pv80 and even with their pj ax200.

siguro the lowest would be 19k na. or else they may add freebies rather than go lower. anyway, i think for a 32", panalo talaga ito. lucky for those first time buyers. kaya go go go!!!  :)

In a word: no.

kindly state why? i was able to compare both using the same source, material and connection... actually i had the salesperson transfer the hdmi cable feeding the c10 into the lx800 and the difference was quite noticeable..

granted i didn't see if the settings (picture, color, contrast, etc.) were the same for both. also the lx800 at the discounted price was still more expensive than the c10

thanks for anyones input

According to the Panasonic site, the LX800 has

 "100Hz Motion Picture Pro

Even fast-moving scenes in sports events and action movies are displayed sharply and clearly. With 50Hz video signal input, Motion Picture Pro creates 100 frames/1 sec. from 50 frames/1 sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, which results in smooth motion images with high resolution."

If that means a lot to you or if the picture difference is that big then go with the LX800, personally if the LX800's PQ is just a tad better, I would go on price and settle for the c10.

Ansons, Abenson and Automatic would be your best bet to get it for as low as P19k.  I've asked around and have been told that there is a lot of demand at this price points, so they're just about out of stock for this go round.  Possible next shipment is third week of October. You'll have to hit a lot of their stores to find out, but from a price point, the best prices were at Ansons, then Automatic, and then Abenson.  Good luck!

Pls share your feedbacks po..nakakatempt kasi un price eh. :-\

By the way eto pala complete inputs nya kasi wala sa site ng panasonic ung model ng unit eh

Please post the rated power consumption of this model.
Is this the same model as the 32C10K in Panasonic Malaysia's site?

I can't reference the model name in MY and PH sites, sigh!
