Terminator Salvation
« on: Nov 29, 2009 at 11:11 PM »
Just saw the Terminator Salvation Mask LE.  It really look nice and I dare say, the best of all 'mask' cases released locally.   If I haven't already bought the steelcase, I might have bought it.  As usual, it's kinda pricey at 1850.

It's metallic.  But probably the usual cheap plastic material used for mask cases.  The silver metallic paint on top is what makes it stands out.   The skull mask stands out on the Astro's display that I passed by earlier.

Not sure if it was 2 disc but it does come with other extras aside from the trailer. How come they released the extras with the limited ed masked case but not in regular amaray case? Would like to have a copy of the film but since its bare bone might as well wait for it in hbo.

There is a 2-disc regular case edition (for P895) & a 2-disc steelcase (for P1,550). The extras on the 2nd disc are a bit slim though for this type of genre film. Also, I think both editions do not have the Director's Cut. I compared the running time on the regular case & steelcase: both are listed as 115 mins.

Yes, this is a major griping point in the States, as well. The studio has decided that the "Director's Cut" for this film will be a Blu-ray exclusive. They're really trying to get people to convert.  >:(

what is difference with regards to the theatrical and director's cut's length anyway? if were talking 10-15 minutes here,  no big deal then.  it isnt that good imo in the first place.

Saw the Terminator Salvation Mask LE a while ago. It looks good from afar, but my discerning eyes were able to spot cheapness up close. One T-X (?) head I inspected badly needs to go to the dentist. It had a big cavity in one of its teeth.  ;D

Target in the USA has an exclusive two-disc director's cut DVD version.

Sometimes a director's cut really adds to the storyline and might help the film become more watchable. Case-to-case basis of course.

Actually, the difference in length is only 3 mins. :-\

from DVD Talk review:

Director's Cut vs. Theatrical Cut - There's honestly not that much of a difference between both cuts. McG stated in early interviews that the Director's Cut would be an additional 30 or 40 minutes when compared to what we've seen in theaters, but that doesn't appear to be the case as there's only 3 minutes of new material here. Most of the additions come in the form of added violence, some awesome boobage, and some minor scene extensions. Although I typically frown on this sort of marketing for a 'Director's Cut', I can't complain this time around because these 3 minutes really do enhance the original product. Certain moments in the film really seemed like they had some obvious cuts when I first saw the film in theaters, but the Director's Cut makes things seem a bit more seamless. The fact that Warner Brothers have included the Theatrical Cut as well is a plus, since we won't have to worry about them making us double dip for it somewhere down the line.

aside from this, i think i can say that the urge to convert is still under control.

Its a big deal! ...for  ;D Moon Bloodgood

The director's cut came with a topless scene involving actress Moon Bloodgood   :o

But it's very short. And dark. Even then, the movie isn't really good (at all) in the first place. You're better off searching for a clip of Bloodgood's short nude scene and watching it for free from many websites.

I got a chance to check out the offerings.
The steel book looks really nice but the cost is too much for me.
Not really a Terminator fan.

Sana magkaron ng steel book sale para maka-avail naman at madagdagan steel book collection ko.
