havent had the chance to back read but would like to ask top three reasons why would you recommend this NMT.

Thanks for all the responses.

1. Very stable.

2. 2 nights na akong nag-marathon na 7 hours per day. No glitches.

3. Ang bilis magboot!!! Mabilis pa ata sa cpu.

Kaninang madaling-araw, i copied all my files from my 320gig spare hard disk to my laptop, mga isang oras din yun... then i installed that hard disk inside my Mede8er and format the hard disk using mede8er, ang bilis lang considering may laman pa yung hdisk, it took only more or less 3 mins to format... then copied again the files from my laptop to the mede8er naman using NAS, copying took 50 mins naman, mabilis na rin for copying 112 Gigabyte of files, not bad

i test some of my movies, loading was fast... pero haven't watch pa a full movie, this saturday or baka tonight, movie marathon ako 

btw, di ko pa ina-upgrade ang firmware, default FW of my unit is v2.1.1 - ok na ba yun mga sir?

First of all, I Am Sorry.   I plead guilty  

Secondly, do you want to watch or do you want to set-up (eto 2 main categories ng members ng PDVD I think)?  

If you want to watch, then stick with the remarkably stable Ver. 2.1.1 for now, sit back and relax - that is, after mong maglaba at plantsa dahil kung uunahin mong manood, palo ka sa Mrs.   .
 
If you want to set-up, then you can try playing around with Ver. 3.0.4 and let us know how it performs.    I was planning to try Ver. 3.0.4 during my last vacation, pero wala talagang chance dahil hindi ako makasingit sa mga nanonood na kasambahay.  Puro nakanganga kasi sa tuwa at galak sa pinapanood na pelikula habang kumakain ng popcorn at potato chips so hindi ko nalang inabala.  

Coming soon na yung bagong FW based on the new SDK for your new DD+ Mede8er.   Wala kaming DD+ chipset, kayong mga bagong owners lang.   So meron kayong potential to decode/pass-thru HD audio assuming the brilliant guys in South Africa gets the FW right.   Kaya you might as well wait for the next FW to be released because it PROMISES to include some significant improvements (daw) - YAMJ included (daw).  

Uy may NAS ka pa pala so mala Ehome ang set-up mo ne?   Gud da ne!

i was not fortunate enough to try out that "stable / stock" firmware kasi pag bili ko nung akin they installed the newly released one. To me it's quite stable naman.

E mas mabilis pa si Reynold tumakbo sa Ehome kesa sa start-up ng Mede8er.     Good tip nga pala yon. When you buy the unit, ipa-update nyo na yung FW sa Ehome then tsaka palang playback test.  If the unit seems to be fine with the latest FW, then pay & bring home.  

Some people say 3.0.4 works fine already and the Mods in Mede8er Forum are using that FW, so it must be stable enough.  But for most of us, 2.1.1 is just fine.

Actually, jen asked me if i want them to install the latest firmware, so i told her na huwag muna, gusto ko muna makita performance ng default firmware... pero mukhang ok naman yung v3.0.4 kasi yun ang demo unit nila and i was impressed by the demo

Siguro basa muna ako ng review sa Mede8er forum about the latest FW bago ako mag-update, nag-register na rin ako kanina dun, pero work muna ako baka masabon ng boss e, hehehe

btw, kapag nag-update ba ng FW kailangan ko bang i-update lahat yung mga versions consecutively like .1, .2, v3, v3.1, and so on? or diretso agad sa pinaka-latest FW?

Uy may NAS ka pa pala so mala Ehome ang set-up mo ne?   Gud da ne!

Ay di ata NAS tawag dun sir, kinabit ko lang sa laptop yung mede8er to transfer the files via USB... Di ako sure kung NAS ang tawag dun kasi sabi nya dapat ko daw i-ON ang NAS sa setup... Tama ba? o kailangan ng network cable at gawing server ang pc para masabing naka-NAS?

question naman mga bossing...may way ba para di ko na kailanganin iformat yung hdisk ko using mede8er? Hassle kasi...may laman na syang movies...1.5tb worth. Yung laptop and desktop ko e 500gb lang total.

or pwede ba ito maging added service ng ehome? hehehe

^^^ I think you should format your Hard disk via Mede8er to enjoy its full features, it was recommended by the maker and almost all the users in Mede8er forum

btw, I am very happy with my Mede8er, today it played 4 1080p demo HD and 2 720p movies flawlessly, bukas movie marathon ulit, 1080p movies naman

that is exactly what they have. wala naman atang ibang color? they'll ask you na agad if gusto mong iupgrade ang firmware as you wait. according to them ok ang new firmware

I never inspected what's around the Mede8er even once after I wired and fired it up kase.   So reliably boring device

yup! sa wakas! salamat! baka mamaya ko pa masetup. sumagi pa nga sa isip ko ang egreat r1 e kaso out of stock plus advantage pa rin talaga sa features ang md8r. si r1 labas bituka if you wanna use int.hdd. ang sagwa hehe... ika nga ni Moises kung susumahin mo ang idadagdag mo sa md8r vs the cheaper players e sulit na rin. here's its ++:

+ sd card slot - from digicam diretso na sa md8r
+ front panel control - tuloy ang ligaya in case masira/mawala ang remote and while waiting for replacement
+ active community - may sagot sa mga katanungan
+ 2 years warranty (@eHome) - what if masira ang motherboard (+/- 6.5k) after 1 year if yours has 1 year warranty?
+ carry bag - minor sa iba pero pabor sa mga byahero.
