Medyo nangangati ako sa DTSHDMA and Dolby TrueHD passthrough but I dont have the proper AVR and my Mede8er is not even DD+.   :(

DTS 1.5mbps core sounds quite good though.  Or perhaps I just havent tested DTSHD at 4.5mbps?  Baka parang DIY vs Branded Sub ang labanan?   ;D ;D ;D

@ eHome -- 2 years warranty. ang kulang nalang ay magkaroon ng warranty pati ang power adaptor and remote kasi ang Measy nagawan ng paraan ni "Garfield" na magkaroon. kaya masaya ako for him and all the owners  :)

Just a word of WARNING though, Mede8er has a bug when paired with an LG LCD TV particularly the LD460 series. I have a 37LD460 and it is having problems with the HDMI signal handshake. Whenever I turn the Mede8er on, it will show the 8 logo then, poof! A "no signal" screen will appear. It would require a reboot before it shows the GUI. It is actually not a big problem but quite annoying specially if you get calls from your kids while working telling you the media box is broken because they don't see the interface on screen even when the box is on. A little experiment led me to discover that putting it on 720p @ 60hz will do the trick but in a way, you are down sampling the resolution. Not really a great idea but it works. I am hoping Mede8er will include the solution when they come up with the firmware update or I will return this and get an Extreamer Pro instead.

Crossing my fingers.

My Mede8er has no handshaking problem with the full HD 32LG50.

TV problem or Mede8er problem?

Setting the output to 720p is not an acceptable solution.

I wouldn't blame the TV as it is just a receiver. Mede8er should be the one solving the problem since it is the media source. I am only being particular about the LD460 series which is considered the newest LG model in the market. I already wrote and posted on the Mede8er forum and they are aware of the issue already. They shouldn't expect people to replace their TV just because their media doesn't work with it. Yes, like I said, switching to 720p is not a welcome solution. It was a discovery as I was finding a way to solve the problem. It also led me to a conclusion that is indeed a handshake problem.

Like I said, I am using an LG 37LD460 TV. Not sure with other TVs. The warning is for LG users particularly the newest LD460 series. I called up LG to ask if they have an update on the firmware and so far, non yet.
I tried several HDMI cables, didn't solve the problem. Shutting it off then on again works though, even if I am on 1080p @ 60hz but again, its annoying.

I hope they do something about it on the next firmware update. I saw the preview of the new interface. Its quite an eye candy but I really don't care much about it as I am satisfied with its current GUI. I want it to be more robust when it comes to under the hood and not the aesthetics. Better networking, streaming capability and less bugs would be better. I welcome the fact that Mede8er has good technical support and even having dedicated forum at that but listening and actually doing something about technical issues when it is presented to them is another story. We will see if they can walk the talk. :) This is the reason why I was swayed to buying a Mede8er rather than the Extreamer Pro, which happened to be my original choice.

We'll see... :)

How would you blame the player if it preceded a specific TV model?  Have you tried an Xtreamer Pro with your LD460?  Baka pareho lang.

Have you fed a 1080p signal to your LD460 successfully using other sources?

Have you connected your Mede8er to another full HD HDTV successfully?

@Clondalkin

Because TV is a mainstream device while media boxes are new media sources. Like I have written on their forum, I do not expect them to design their boxes around a specific TV model/receiver in mind. But since a particular issue is presented to them, they should try to rectify it in a specific manner. LD460 series has a good media player built-in and capable of playing 1080p on USB. I tried a Blue Ray player with no problem. But then again, it is not the issue. It would play 1080p on Mede8er with no problem. The problem is, it just won't recognize it automatically and requires a reboot every time it is turned on. Then it will work properly.

I brought it back to the store and tried it on two HDTVs with different brands other than LG, no problem.

Bought an LG 32LD460 at SNS...tested it using their mede8er unit showing Avatar...no issues noted. Di ko lang sure kung 720p yun or 1080p.

I don't have a mede8er yet but I'm planning to  ;D
