Oh boy, thanks for making me feel a tad younger!

Older stores I remember are Upscale's National Bookstore branch, and Upscale's Park Square branch when it was bigger and along the Pasay Road side of the mall.

Further back, it's the surplus stores in Dau already!

Watch out for this folks...

Remember Mang JV, ex-distributor of Cary tube amps and preamps, and probably the father of audio in Makati Cinema Sqr. ? ;D

He might just make a comeback with the distributorship of Cary products.... again.  Seems that Cary's Dennis Had is pretty impressed with him.  ;)

Go Mang JV!

I used to frequent Audiophile store in Cubao Ali Mall (beside the piano stores) before.... since student pa lang ako, I can't afford to buy any of their expensive items so whenever i passed by cubao, i always drop by there, pasilip silip lang, 'lang pambili e  ;D .... then after a couple of rounds sa loob, sa labas naman ako tumatambay just to hear their sound system.... solve na ako dun ... yun nga lang,  madalas din ako mapagkamalang "bakal boy" ng mga bading na lumalapit sa akin  >:( ... of course, disappear agad ako   ;D

The last time i went there, i can't seem to find the store anymore.... i think closed na yun...

I also buy my LPs at Ali Mall....

How about the old "Reference Audio" located at Makati Cinema Sqr. and Virra Mall?  It was among 1 of the first stores to sell brand new stuff up to the early 90s.

The brands it carried were quite impressive during those days:

Conrad Johnson, Musical Fidelity, B&K, Rotel, SAE, DBX, ADC, B&W, Monitor Audio, Tannoy...........

Oh, by the way, you can catch Joey-Boy at Park Square 1 Lobby this week (or tapos na ba).  Upscale has an ongoing demo at the Lobby.  Since Upscale is carrying Toyama stuff, Joey will be there.

What ever happened to Robert a.k.a. Hardy who was manning Reference's Virra Mall branch?

karaniwan namang kakilala kong tindero/tindera sa Raon ay sila na ang may sariling store na mina-manage.

like in Akihabara, and Soliman Record Bar.

suki ako ng LPs dito lalo na sa Salonga, Escaño, & Soliman Record Bars.

and Philippine Greetings sa Florentino Torres malapit sa Fire Station ng Ongpin.

Supreme Sports naman sa Ronquillo.

and Oriental Radio Supply & Armstrong pag electronics parts.

Wow Reminiscing the old SUKI days!  ;D

Sams Audio...

in order of purchase

Pioneer Eq
Kenwood Loudspeaker (still with the family, after all these years)
Pioneer Amp
Kenwood Tuner
Realistic Eq...still with me, but used as an "electronic crossover" for a sub

Anyone remember seing  the large Cerwin Vega, model D9 with the 15 inch woofer for sale at 15K....na nandoon sa shop nila ? ang tagal bago nabenta yun...I used to drool over that stuff....and the Infinity with a 12 inch woofer with a hundred tweeters..hehehe

Vetjems...kay Danny right ?

Pioneer Amp
Technics Tape Deck RS M45 (still have it pero sira)
JVC 4 Channel Receiver

Danvir...often browsed through their shops but never got anything...pangit kasi listening room nila..hahaha

WYNSS...parating nasa Manila Bulletin yun diba...pero ang layo Cubao para sa akin....

DELCO ..kay Mang JV sa MCS.....saw for a firstime a  bookshelf  Celestion in that shop...tulo laway and a Marantz tube... I met JV a few weeks ago sa MSC...babalik ang DELCO, but puro Cell Phone daw lang ang meron... :(

How about Sensible Audio...still there sa MSC after all these years ....I remember before.. SI Lito G was always at MSC...

across Sensible Audio in MSC...may isang audio store doon...kaso parating sarado..kahit weekends...once or twice ko lang ata nakitang bukas....mahilig din sa vintage items...tubes, LPs..etc

Last year nawala din yung audioden along Sucat.  Limited market for their pricey stuff, I suppose.
