8 GIG External Hard drive movie Transfer **HELP**
« on: Jan 20, 2010 at 09:05 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I am currently watching my HD movies using my xtreamer via 120 gb WD external hard drive.  Now, I use mkvmerge gui to split 4 gb .mkvs + HD movies so that they can be loaded to my external HD.  So far no issues with that.  But when I split 8 GB + plus movies like 300 and patton thata's where the problem started, specifically with video and audio sync.  The 1st leg of the file  plays well and is synced fine, but when it goes to the 2nd part, thats when the audio and video gets out of sync!

Any advise please?  Is there a better program that I can use to split .mkvs?  or Is there a way to transfer the full 8 gb movie to my external HD?

Many Thanks!!!!

You can reformat the drive to NTFS so that you can put files bigger than 4gb.

Run mo ulit yung MKVMerge sa part 2 only and this time, re-synch audio and video.  Just know the lag in msec.

if hard drive is formatted in Fat32 the maximum file size you can place is 4 gig.
If it is in NTFS format then that limitation is removed.

There is also an option to convert your hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS without having to reformat and lose your data. pagoogle na lang. :)
