i want the easiest access to software
i am not very concerned with cost of software as long as i have the best PQ as mentioned above

2) go for popcorn hour?
3) go for media player?
4) go for blu ray disc player?

I'd say go for BD player as it's much affordable now (it can also play your current DVD collections). Also, the BD movies have gone down in price, many are selling below $15 & some even below $10. PQ is dependable on individual films but in general most of the recent, latest & not too long ago films are really good. :)

NMT (popcorn, etc) is the cheapest & cost effective. Software contents can be downloaded. The only drawback is you need fast internet speed & patience for downloading esp if you want the highest PQ at 1080p. Very hassle as compare to BD player. Just my 2 cents.

hi bro,
is it ok to acquire a PS3 as a blu ray player or iba pa din ang PQ ng dedicated, stand alone player from a PS3?

PS3 PQ is good enough but it's more than a regular Blu/DVD player. It's a versatile machine that can play games, store music/photo files for playback, etc.

If your primary purpose is just to watch movies, you may want to opt for the other available cheaper Blu players other PS3 is a great player. ;) Btw, what size is your HDTV? 1080P?

For 50" PS3 is sufficient but since you say if cost is no object, perhaps you want to consider the popular Oppo BDP-83

*Or if you can wait a bit longer for the latest 3D Blu player to be released in spring ;D

i guess the ps3 will do kasi di lang siya pang ht, pang gaming din. i just hope im not sacrificing on pq if i will use ps3 as opposed to dedicated BD players.
