Topic: Using LCD TV as Computer monitor

Planning to use an LCD TV as my PC's monitor, however this CPU is for a lot more than HT. I'll also use it for listening, as I've transferred my DAC and speaker amp/headphone amp to this and kept the CD transports away. Any issues with doing this, like the Windows taskbar burning into the screen or something?

should be ok.  from my experience though, parang ang sakit sa mata if you use the lcd tv as a monitor kasi ang lapit masyado (if usual desktop setup).  i tried dual display before with the lcd as the secondary but ended up bringing back the normal lcd monitor.  use the tv as a tv.

no. don't have a problem using 50" (50g10) plasma for my pc. in fact i wouldn't want to go back to using lcd.. no burn in issues even with the taskbar or icons. gaming, no problem.. videos - perfect. facebook.. so nice to see the miniscule pics blown up.

ezra, what lcd tv did you get ?

oh. you might have a problem with input lag on lcd's bigger than 32".

My 32 in. Sony S550 as Monitor for my HTPC paired with Lazyboy at 4 ft distance is the best set up for me. I find browsing and reading easier because of the bigger fonts. I came from a 23 in. Samsung LCD which I sold. I'm wondering if a 42 in. Full HD would be a better set up.

using a 1080p Sanyo 42 inch LCD as my PC monitor. No problems whatsoever. Not that tiring to the eyes since I use it at a good distance with a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse.

on my 50pv70 plasma using VGA, the fonts are quite clear at 10 ft distance.

I'm using my AVision 42" LCD as my main PC monitor and also my HTPC. I'm very satisfied with it. I'm around 5 feet away from the TV. I bought an A4tech wireless keyboard and mouse combo(not that expensive, around 1.3K). So overall I think you will not have any problems using LCD TV as PC monitor just make sure to set up the resolution so its native and calibrate cleartext.

Me? I use my own Sony Bravia KLV-32T550A as my computer monitor. I tried Picture in Picture capability and it worked! I'm not doing this often, though.

  we have a similar setup... My LG 32 Plasma + my HTPC (wireless KB/Mouse) + LazyBoy === very comfy and relaxing movie/internet chair...

I am also inclined to do this but I game sometimes (COD:MW2), how would the 32" LCD affect my gaming? Quality and Performance wise?

I currently run a Samsung 2333HD monitor and run games on 1920x1080. If my TV's native resolution is 1366x768 only, do I have to run it at that resolution? or can I still run it at 1080p?
