Malaking factor po sa consumption yung brightness/contrast/adaptive brightness/dynamic contrast/etc. settings ng display, saka yung material being displayed.

Not yet. The reading is based on the default settings. Just finished mounting last night. Will try the different settings this weekend.

SAMSUNG LCDTV 32A330

Standby = 3W

MODE:       Auto                w/ Energy Saving @High   @ medium     @ Low
Dynamic  = 114W                       80W                          96W          100W
Standard = 100W                       77W                           88W           90W
Movie     =  100W                       77W                          88W           90W

MODE:     Entertainment      w/ Energy Saving @High   @ medium     @ Low
Cinema  =  99W                       76W                          87W           89W
Game    = 109W                       77W                          92W           96W
Sports   = 127W                       80W                          99W          103W

So in short the lowest end variant of Samsung consumes from a low of 77W to a high of 127W ;D

SAMSUNG LEDTV UA32C4000PXXP

Standby = 3W
No Signal (Black Screen) = 25W

MODE: Watching Disney Playhouse Channel
Picture Mode:  w/ Eco mode @ Auto
                       Dynamic                  Standard                Movie
                   frm 56 - 69W             frm 49 - 56W         frm 43 - 45W

While watching movie in Wowow channel  From lowest of 28W to a high of 63W
Noticed that while watching movie if the scene is dark or night time..its only consuming 28W..

With the high prices of Meralco nowadays I think the LED TV is the bang for the bucks everyday viewing TV's..the differrence in price will pay for itself in a few months of use. This TV is much more greener compare to my old CRT21" TV @ ave. of 66W wala pang  power surge during Power ON. That CRT tv had a spike of 210W from off to ON. Also compare it to my previous post the LCD sammy is almost 40% higher of the juice consumption but in terms of picture quality ang layoo ng lamang ng LEDtv to my SammyLCDA350.

pre...with the use of this Powerpro..pls. see the link http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,103589.0.html   meron pa isang seller here I think RXV same gadget diff. brand lang..german made...mine is china made.

  I think the ambient light sensor doesnt affect much the consumption...If you really want less consumption buy the LED backlight LCD TV...

Hi CeeV

Kasi ito may nabasa ako post dati. Ma didisplay yung power consumption sa model ng bravia. (Check mo yung naka BOLD sa quote)
Quote
my sony bravia has a built in light sensor wherein the LCD brightness lessens when in dark ambiance making the black scenes look good and the contrast better and at the same time lowering the energy consumption. my tv has a capability to display the power consumtion bar at the lower left side of the screen and at night the bar is only 1/8, in computing 1/8 of 165 watts consumption is only 20 watts.. hmm very low consuming indeed... when in bright ambiance the bar is at 7/8, in computing 7/8 of 165 watts is 144 watts, the backlight increases so as to give more detail to the video in the screen and normalize with the ambient light and eats more electricity... let us experiment, putting both LCD and plasma in a room where there is sunlight present and produce brightness in whole of the room, the LCD tv would produce a glare and reflection free picture compared to the plasma... so in conclusion, the LCD can give benefit to both worlds in bright and dark ambiance wherein plasma is only best in dark ambiance and the LCD tends to be more energy efficient when used in dark ambiance provided only if your LCD tv has a built in light sensor because other models dont have any. my bravia's model is klv-32v300a.

Well...maganda pala yung bravia na yun. Pero I have a feeling na it's not the power level display. I believe it's the contrast of the tv. My father have a Sharp 37"LCD TV na merong features na ganun na autodimming or magiceye..and everytime magchange ang ambient lighting you will see the same bar graphs at the lower left corner of the tv. bale it's the auto contrast level.  In a way nababago nga power consumption kase inaadjust nya ang contrast level and amount of bakclights ng LCD...pero not that much. And the claims na kapag too dark is almost 20W lang ang consumption?..well plausible pero to my experience even on an LED backlight 32lcd tv with total black screen ang display the lowest consumption is 25W. (see my post above.)

heto lang mapayo ko sayo bro...If your always curious about power consumption ng mga appliances mo....sinasabi ko sau sulit na sulit ung mga binebenta dito na power cost monitor..hehehehe..ako mahilig din mag-experiment lalo anything about electricity and electronics ;D
