Chris Paul will probably end up in NYK. LA is an unlikely destination.

Based on reports, Matt Barnes might end up in LA though...

Mike D'Antoni's probably thinking that CP3 will make Amare look good just like the way Captain Canada did back in Phoenix.

LAkers improve on defense with Barnes and Theo Ratliff. Excellent pick up, both of them. I'd like to think Ratliff's shotblocking and length is way better than Mbenga and Barnes would be another enforcer and defender that have Kobe's back.

Kawawa mga opposing SFs pag kalaban ang Lakers..........bugbugin mo muna ke Artest.......then painisin sa pesky defense ni Barnes.

Recent moves of Lakers.....more on Defense na.

Luke Walton.....sana magretire na.....kahit mag assistant coach na lang.....tutal alam nya nuances ng Tri offense.

I think thats it, the roster is set (unless Shannon Brown agree to stay for lesser money)

PG  Fisher, Blake
SG  Kobe, Vujacic
SF  Artest, Barnes, Walton, Ebanks
PF  Gasol, Odom, Caracter
C   Bynum, Ratliff

Better defense on paper.....better bench.   Hoping bench will not give up leads, bench last year keep on giving up leads in a hiccup.

Great off-season for the Champs....... ;)

Fisher, Blake, Kobe, Artest, Barnes, Gasol, Odom, Bynum make a pretty solid 8-man rotation. A good improvement considering LA has been operating on a 6-deep arsenal the past 3 seasons. And yet they were successful. Optimistic that the new recruits can blend in well in the Lakers' scheme of things.

The Chase for Three is on!

This is one of the Lakers' best line-ups since the Showtime Era.  The two rookies are indeed solid picks -  great for the future.  Fingers crossed that it'll be a healthy roster all season (and post-season).

barnes can sub also for kobe in stretches, he is a bonafide 2-3 player, can finish on a break and as we know a pesky defender, we know how he got on kobe's nerves in 09 finals but mamba is just out of this world he..he
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1x9zHiSgxY "kobe didn't even flinch"

ratliff naman kahit old na he can contribute effectively in limited minutes, in his last outing in minny and charlotte he can average 1.5 bpg

as for shannon, he has bird's right reason also that's why fisher is not officially signed yet pero im irregardless of cap space they can be signed.

surely this signings are aim at south beach... let's get it on...

other news, man kakalipat lang ni cp3 sa LRMR (lebron's firm) and parang he's acting like his minions na...
can't believe he has guts to ask for a trade.. a player coming from injury and as know also darren collision can easily replace him as pg in NO

The Lakers don't have Shannon Brown's bird rights.  To qualify, a player must have been with the same team a minimum of 3 years.  Brown has only played in 2.

The best Brown can hope for is a 75% increase in salary max.

Aside from the Jermaine O'Neal signing, Boston has just been re-signing players.  The latest would be Marquis Daniels.

News have it that Shaq is lobbying to be employed by Boston.

Sabi ko nga I thought Boston were supposed to run a championship caliber team. Never thought that they are now building a home-for-the-aged basketball league. ;D

well that is the product of the win-now plan of danny ainge in acquiring ray allen and KG in 07/08 with pierce their salary is the whole cap space so even then they have to take in minimum players (cassell, pj brown) and use their MLE (posey, sheed), so as the big 3 ages so as their mininums and their MLEs

but at least ainge locked rondo for 5 years at 10M a year, pretty cheap imho for the future of the team.

Yup win-now mode si Danny.

On another note, Boston is rumored to be throwing it's hat into the Chris Paul sweepstakes.  Charlotte is asking for Sheed's contract, Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins for Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor.

HHHhhhmmmm....I don't know.  But my knee-jerk reaction is pass.

That trade would set the Celtics back. Rondo knows how to play with this team now.

no way, paul is a very good point guard for me but id say rondo is better than him....

and emeka okafor? he has not proven anything in the NBA.

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5408617

oh no, the bulls got him? jeez t mac seems like a jinx i think its time for him to retire, he is not playing competetive anymore, even some rookies can play him to the ground now.
