Just to veer away from freeagency, I just downloaded Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs The New York Knicks (part of ESPN's 30 for 30 film series) and man does it bring back memories! Reggie was just so damn good at getting to his opponents' heads he's probably the best (Larry Bird's a tie or second IMHO). His duel with John Starks and the insights provided by players, coaches, management etc. in this film were just so priceless that even if you're not a Pacers or Knicks fan, you'd want to watch it, if only to see how masterful Reggie was at frustrating opposing players.

Just saw this. I have to say it gives great insight into one of the fiercest NBA rivalries in the 90's. I was rooting for the Knicks to win those series but Reggie really was a master at breaking down the psyche of his opponents. I felt sorry for John Starks and I have to give him props that he agreed to share some comments for the film. Also I was treated to a clip of MJ losing his cool. I've never seen that before and it was surprising to see as he usually mentally owned anyone matched up to him. Goes to show Reggie's talent of getting in your head.

Why do I get the feeling that The Miami Heat as a whole is one egotistic, self-absorbed, classless, conceited and delusional kind of an organization.      :D

Heat sell out season tickets, fire sales staff
Posted by Royce Young

Typically, if you do your job really, really well, you get a promotion. Or you get a raise. Or at the very least, you get to keep your job.

But that didn't happen in Miami as the Heat fired its season ticket sales staff after the team sold out of season tickets. Ouch.

In a statement, the team confirmed the terminations Friday afternoon, saying that with an "exhausted'' inventory of season-tickets "we no longer require a season ticket sales team to sell tickets.''

Stephen Weber, vice president of sales, delivered the news to about 30 ticket sales people Friday morning, according to the story from the Miami Herald. Currently, the team's waiting list has more than 6,000 names on it. It's pretty evident that at this point, the Heat can sell tickets without even trying.

LeBron calls the Heat - Team John Dillinger - meaning, "Public Enemy No. 1"

I think being a Heel suits him better than being a Face.

Miami at Boston on Opening Night (Oct 27, Wed, PH time).  Then the Lakers get their rings at Staples prior to opening the season vs. Houston.  Absent na naman ako nito.  :)

If Shaq won't demand more playing time & would agree to come off the bench to spell Perk, KG, or Jermaine, why not?

Shaq is said to have already agreed on coming off the bench and the issue about having a certain amount of playing time.

After the game at Boston on opening night, the Heat travel to Philadelphia the next day, before playing their first home game vs. Orlando on Oct. 29.  Another must-see game...

Then, on Dec. 2, the Heat visit the Cavs for the first time after the Decision.  Wouldn't it be a *pleasure* for the Heat to lose this game to the Cavs?  ;D

I doubt this will happen. I doubt LBJ/D Wade/CB4 will let this happen. :D

If this is for the vet min then it's an absolute steal IMO. Shaq has repeatedly stated he wanted around 8M and him signing for the vet min (1.4M) is a big surprise. Wonder what Danny Ainge did to convince Shaq to sign AND come off the bench?

Well if Shaq does join Boston, I hope he will not disrupt the team's chemistry. He's still got a big ego, still thinks he's a starter, still demands for plays and touches in the offense. I'll be surprised if he accepts the vet min.

im the happiest.

though shaq is not even half of what he used to be, im still a fan of the guy, he is the best center i have seen and liked ( not necessarrily the best really).

i hope this happen really and maybe he can just end the season and retire and not be forced to retire.

im a fan of shaq but also agree he is past his great playing self.

i hope shaq agrees to whatever he can be given atleast he still have a year to play and perhaps if he indeed still has what it takes, then he can prove it when he gets the playing time. id rather see this happenning than shaq suffer the same thing as what happened to antoine walker, cris webber, ralph sampson, and steve smith, they were all forced to retire at least from what i know

shaq might not be a good fit with the Celtics since they don't run a deliberate half court set. they try to get stops and generate their offense through transition. I don't know how Shaq can play with such a offense like that.
