or better all around player.  ;D

minus the clutch.

I'm with you on this bro. We're not alone too, Philjax thinks so too. MJ was without peer as a scorer though, which is why he gets more rep. I just watched his 63 and 69 point games and the most amazing thing is that he scored all those points within the flow of the offense. Hindi pa nga nagbwakaw.

Pero OT na, we're going further and further into the past.

2011 ulit. Eto naman: Carmelo Anthony.

Do you consider Melo to be a franchise player, a max-contract player? We're reading a lot lately that he is not, in fact that he isn't even the best player on his own team. What do you guys think about Melo?

overrated.

he hasnt done anything to improve the plight of his team, he is just a typical NBA player that has more playing time and opportunity to score

i find kevin durant a way better player than him

I agree. Another hype job done to Carmelo Anothony but over the years it only exposed him to being "just a typical NBA player that has more playing time and opportunity to score" - Onkyo606

Kevin Durant needs to score more  :) kailangan nya mag bwakaw  ;D

all i know is that he always plays great against the LAkers. He's a descent rebounder too for a small forward. I would pay him max. IMHO  :)

Lebron likes to talk about himself in the 3rd person. Now, they used to view Kobe as a very narcissistic person but Lebron really brings it to another level. Just imagine Kobe referring to himself as Kobe or Jordan referring to himself as Michael or MJ or Jordan.

Thats just being a douche, no other way to describe it.

Ahhh...brings back memories of the brawl at The Palace.

Saw the USA vs Lithuania match today. Team USA really started awful. No shot was going in and the usually steady Chauncey Billups missed 3 of 4 from the freethrow line. Wow. But the speed of the Americans started to come to play on the defensive end during the second half as their perimeter defense got the better of the game Lithuanians. I hope I can catch the USA-Spain match, if only to see Ricky Rubio play. Pau's not playing so that's a huge loss for Espana, even if little big brother Marc's in the line up.

as for melo being a max player (or not), i think that would depend on the team that lands him.

if the knicks get him, sure, overpay the guy.they paid jerome james (jerome james who?!) a boatload of money to do nothing and get fat.

Quite ironic.

Kwame Brown, Michael Jordan reunited again
(philstar.com) Updated August 24, 2010 08:33 AM Comments (0) View comments

CHARLOTTE (AP) – Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan is bringing back what's considered his worst move as a basketball executive: Kwame Brown.

The Bobcats on Monday agreed on a one-year deal with Brown for the veteran minimum of $1.3 million. Agent Mark Bartelstein says Brown will sign on Tuesday.

Jordan was running the Washington Wizards when he selected Brown straight out of high school with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 draft. The big man turned out to be a major disappointment.

Jordan was later fired by the Wizards. He joined the Bobcats as a part owner in 2006, and bought the team outright this spring.

Now Jordan hopes the 6-foot-11 Brown will add depth. He averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds with Detroit last season.

Kwame is the personification of a player with potential but without the heart or the motivation to succeed. Of course, MJ who has all those attributes should have known better.

From what I've seen of Kwame during his LA days, he lacked focus and the basketball IQ to maximize his potential. And the fact that he's got small butter finger hands didn't help either. He gets in good position down low or set up nicely by his teammmates then the ball slips from his hands. But he was a descent defender on the post and a wide body, so, you can at least give Kwame that.

"He has not met the high expectations that marked his arrival into the NBA, and is regarded as one of the worst draft busts in NBA history" -Wiki  ;D

"Brown was looking the other way when teammate Sasha Vujačić threw a pass his way. The ball bounced off his head and landed out of bounds, which was met with loud cheers from the crowd" - another from wiki, sorry cant help it  ;D

shooting one's self in the foot for the first time is a mistake.

Somewhat NBA related but interesting:

The blog on hobbykings.com, a Web site dedicated for the trading of high-end NBA cards, has a number of entries claiming that rogue Citibank Binondo officer Francis Bryan Ang was spending quite a fortune trading on the collectibles, using ‘attyball’ as handle.

MJ-classic example that a great player does not neccesarily translate into a great personnel guy.

ditto for Zeke.

The San Antonio Spurs have reached agreement with former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry to return to the franchise’s front office as an assistant GM, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
