LeBron says race played a part in backlash
Posted on: September 30, 2010 10:23 am

In an appearance on Wednesday night's edition of "Primetime" on CNN , LeBron James replied that he thought race was a factor in the negative response to his decision to leave Cleveland for the Miami Heat .

"I think so, at times," he told CNN correspondent Soledad O'Brien. "It's always, you know, a race factor."

Boy!  Lebron does keep shooting his mouth off doesn't he?  I don't know.  But he does look more and more like a jerk for saying that.   :D

kobe is talking one on one.

footwork, ball handling skills and shooting, advantage na nya.

LeBron has nearly no post game and has a very undeveloped fadeaway jumper. When I say post game, I'm not just talking about driving head first into the paint, I'm talking put your back to the basket and back down your defender.

Kobe has a more advanced and developed scoring skill set for a one on one setting, IMO. In a team game, LeBron gets the edge. In one on one play, Kobe gets the edge.

Actually neither of them will. They think it's too much of a risk to their reputation when they should just do it for fun. Like KD playing horse.

Nadali mo Coach ;D  Lebron might be more skilled -- passing, defending, what have you.  But Kobe, one on one, is nearly impossible to stop.  His scoring arsenal is deeper, more intricate than Lebron's.

Speaking of LBJ, earlier he played his first ever game as a Heat in a pre season game vs Detroit (live 730am at BTV).  Unfortunately, the triumvirate was short lived as Wade went out early in the 1st quarter with a hamstring injury.  But still, the Heat looks promising indeed.  LBJ and Bosh didn't disappoint as they finished with 18 and 20pts apiece in less than 30 minutes of playing time.  Other players like Mike Miller, Carlos Arroyo and Haslem also delivered.  Mukhang malakas talaga ang Heat.  Mapalabas, mapaloob malupit.  The pick and pop between LBJ and Haslem seems potent. And oh yes Heat won by a mile.

And LA lost by a mile versus the Timberwolves the other day.

But in a one on one game, you almost always go for the drive from the outside.  Bihira mag post game sa one on one.  Lagi naman drive sa one on one na initially galing sa labas..  Lebron right now has the bulk, strength, speed, hand and foot speed to keep up and disrupt Kobe.  Kobe would have a hard time posting Lebron to let one of his fadeaways loose.

On the defensive end, Kobe has already lost a step.  And he is not strong enough to push Lebron from driving to the hoop.  Also Kobe has lost some elevation to be able to block Lebron on the drive.

Maybe il put my money on the guy who scored the second highest point total in NBA history (a close game at that), has been voted as one of the best defenders in his position multiple times already and with 5 rings to boot as compared to a two time MVP who is yet to prove that he can win at least 1 game in the finals.

The only problem Kobe will have against Lebron is post up. But knowing Kobe, he'll find a way to win. Now, when Lebron's losing, he'll probably end up calling over Wade and Bosh just so he doesn't have to do everything by himself.  ;D

Hindi malabo ang 6, I am still betting on Lakers this season so Kobe can be ranked closer to Michael Jordan who got 6 rings.

i have to disagree. malayo pa si kobe sa level ni jordan. he still young, aabot pa siguro siya dun until he proves na kya niya maka-6 championship ring with him as the franchise player. his first 3 championships are with shaq who is the main man of the lakers then.

I don't think Kobe can ever match Jordan's career.  Jordan never lost in the finals.

I thought people have long removed the MJ blinders? LOL MJ is untouchable and any mention of Kobe being at par with His Airness is just d@mn sacriligious! But then again, Kobe's got the opportunity to surpass MJ. Let's not forget, MJ wasn't even considered better that Magic even until he won three-straight. It was after his 6th ring that he moved up a notch. IF Kobe wins number 6, then wins a 7th...

Are we still in that one-on-one "in Kobe's sleep" dream match vs Lebron?  In this type of game, experience counts a lot.  Kobe may not "out-skill" Lebron but I'm sure he can definitely outplay the guy. Kobe has proven to be a winner.  What has LBJ proven so far?  Remember back in the day, Cezar outplayed Fernandez, a taller and more talented player in a similar 1-on-1 match (Crispa Toyota days).  Cezar used his smarts all throughout the game to beat El Presidente, one of the best ever in the PBA.  Between Kobe and Lebron, I'd put my money anytime with the black mamba.
