Miami's big 3 made 5-22 FG so far. Wade and James have 5 and 3 TOs. And it's not even halftime yet.

Mismo.  This team needs a better point guard to help the Triad, much like what Rondo is doing.  Against a very disciplined and defensive team like Boston, kakapusin 'to.  They're only surviving with their transition game.
We deserve better.

first game impressions on Heat

1.  I think its Lebron's team.
2.  I think the difference between Pierce/Allen combo and Lebron/Wade is that the latter both need the ball to be effective and create for others.....while Allen is a spot shooter who feeds from getting open from screens.
3.  They'll have problems with teams with an inside game (Lakers??).

Although Miami lost, they are very explosive offensively. I agree, its Lebron's team. We'll wait and see comes Playoffs.. :)

Though the celtics won they had too many turnovers. On the lighter side of things shaq seemed to be fitting in very well with the celtics he had a really good first half in my opinion

And that's why the Lakers are back-to-back champs. Until another team can deal with their 21-foot talent inside (Gasol + Odom + Bynum), they'll still be the champs.

Haha, day one pa lang champion na ang usapan. Halatang sabik.

When much is given, much is expected.  I feel sorry for the Heat fans.  Miami is supposed to start with a bang, win this one against the No. 1 team in the East, as an Away team.  Miami's supposed to make a statement to the NBA, damn it. And don't tell me it's only the first game.  With the much vaunted triumvirate, it's not their job to lose a first game.  That's Seattle's job.  Or the Bucks.  But Miami?  They failed big time.  The big 3 is a big fluke.  Let's have a big 4, maybe another point guard like Rondo to make it real.  Am I too harsh?  Maybe I am but then again, when much talent is given, much is expected.

By the way, the 9 points they made in the first quarter is the lowest first quarter total of Miami in ten years!  I rest my case.

Of course based solely on their first game, it's funny that last year the heat were a half-court set up kind of team.  Now it actually looks more like the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Miami's big 3 actually don't compliment each other.  Their play is basically the same.  Lebron and Wade have the same style of play.  Bosh..basically is the same.  He likes to play facing the basket instead of posting down low.  You basically have 3 superstars who like to play with the ball in their hands to be effective facing the basket and slashing through the lane.

Actually, it was only Lebron in this game. Did I just see Cleveland Cavaliers in the Miami uniform?  :)

Let's see...it's just the first game.

Again, with the Big 3, they're supposed to score 80 points, IN THE THIRD QUARTER!  Not as a final score.  This is nowhere explosive to me.  Yeah, maybe Lebron's 31 is but then again, with Dwayne and Bosh, he should at least be averaging a double double or a triple double a night.  Sorry to Lebron but that's what is expected of him. Or else he will again be a failure.

^Yeah, if Kobe can score 81 in a game, so should the Big 3 ;D Oh and, Miami had 15 assists. Rondo, 17.

Building team chemistry takes time. Though its got big names, Miami is still a work in progress. Its an 80-game season, they still have a lot of games ahead of them. What's important is for them to be ready in the playoffs. I think its better to make a fair assessment of this team by the All-star break. One thing's for sure, they wont certainly break the Bull's record of 72 wins this season.  ;)

Kind of funny when the crowd started chanting "Overrated".  ;D

The Celtics clearly exposed the Heat's weaknesses (lack of halfcourt offense/defense and a reliable big man).

Rondo is one of my favorite players ( and I'm a Laker fan! ).  Those two big assists to Shaq for a slam were classic plays!  Hey, let's give it to Papa Shaq.  He is now the new Mr. Quality Minutes.  I think he is a perfect fit for the Celtics.  Under a good coach like Doc Rivers, an aging Shaq will truly shine.

The 3rd game is currently being shown here near our office as a KFC NBA promo.  Live via Dream Cable, in full HD and in a giant screen here at Ortigas Park.  I can see the game clearly from my office (5th floor of Strata 100)! Swerte ko naman!  Lakers now leading 96-91 via a trey from Shannon Brown.

It's good to see Yao Ming back in action!
